That's fine. I will recoup it by a $7500 tax credit when I buy Leaf or Rav4Prime or Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid. ;)

At least until Jan 4th, according to the current promotion. Uber eats is the same platform as Uber in general. At a minimum you need to be Active in the regular Uber and just submit profile page as proof to dealer.

Toyota probably reserved the Android Auto "enhancement" for the 11.6" for the 2022 model year :). I am in the process of replacing my 2020 XLE with a 2021 XLE. I plan to add comma.ai so am after TSS 2.0 for full seemless compatibility. I notice you also got a $1000 college grad rebate. Online I see only $500 and that too only if one finances/leases thru TFS. Is the $1000 specific to your dealership?

Toyota changes it often enough I think. It was $500 last month, but I think it was bumped to $1000 in December, but a lot of the documentation online isn't updated. buyatoyota.com shows the current $1000 grad rebate for the Prime, but yes, this is why I financed through TFS at regular rates ~4.79 APY (rather than the introductory APR rates). That way you are able to get the customer cash rebates and the grad rebate, and then refinance with a different lender w/ lower interest rate.

Is it true BSM is now standard on the LE trim now for 2021? I don’t have it on my 2020 LE, but I *DO* have it on my 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club - BSM is now standard on all Miatas as of 2020, used to be an option only for the Grand Touring trim (it goes Sport, Club, Grand Touring).

She’s in storage now but I can tell you what a difference it makes driving the Mazda w/ BSM
to the Toyota without it. I don’t solely rely on the BSM in the Mazda, I still check my mirror(s) - but I think of it as sort of an insurance policy. It also beeps loudly if you signal to turn into the lane while the BSM is lit up on the mirror. Does the Prime do that?

I imagine it’s only a matter of time before the govt makes it mandatory on all new cars as the United States did with the back up camera requirement for 2019 and newer.

Despite the fact that these types of mandates cause cheaper, entry level vehicles to increase in price, I believe it’s worth it; if every car & truck on the road had BSM I believe there would be many fewer accidents leading to loss of life (obviously everything is secondary to that) but also $$ insurance claims, road tie ups, wasted fuel etc.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see a new mandate for all new U.S. vehicles requiring BSM, starting circa 2028 or so.

Not on Prius Prime LE. On PP, only the highest trim Limited has BSM standard, and not even options for lower trims LE and XLE. However, BSM is standard on regular Prius LE trims (both Prius and Prius eAWD). The only trim that does not have the BSM even as an option is the lowest trim L Eco.

Got it. For the longest time I thought there was this elusive AWD Prime out there - then found out it’s the regular one :) :) all these safety options get confusing. What’s only available on the most expensive trim level is suddenly standard on all of them the next model year sometimes. It gets confusing !

May take a few days to update. But yeah, it will be at least the same $3K but most likely higher in NE. I still see 16 PP sitting in our local Toyota dealer lot.

You may qualify for California's $1000 from cleanvehiclerebate (sorry, can't add URL as newbie).
Get preapproval if you're in San Diego for guarantee.

Just got a quote for 2021 XLE in CA for $24109 pre-tax/docs/dmv and $26969 OTD. It's a $3200 dealer discount and a $4K Toyota rebate. How good is this--is there more to be negotiated? I'm not in a rush and I want to do as well as we can.

Apologies for the bare question. I read through a lot of the last few pages, but there's very little posting about CA prices for Jan. Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply!

@Raytheeagle You love that color, I know.:) Please don't be disappointed, but this one is Magnetic Grey with a light interior, so at least it shares some of the syllables of the BM color.

Does that mean the Barcelona Red Gen3 is on notice ?

If so, can't wait to see your new Prime in person ;).

    Good luck with the deal(y).

    Actually it's sad news. :(

My wife's really pretty Prius v got T'd on the dogleg just behind the rear passenger door. Probably the most expensive repair to do. We're weighing the repair (her vote) or applying the insurance check to a new Prius Prime (my vote).

Are you still getting that effectively 100mpg? I like the idea of rarely needing to buy gas, regardless of the exchange in kWh cost.

That seems like an excellent price and better than what I've been getting in the Northern California area. Does it include the $900.11 California Clean Fuel Reward Point of Sale rebate? Would you mind sharing the quote to aid my negotiations?

Sad to hear about the damage to the v:(.

I'm actually at 137 mpg over the 31 k miles I've put on our 2019 Prime:).

If I had usual driving like you do, I'd be MUCH higher on that scale(y).
