After focusing the search on several Toyota dealers in western NY area, picked up a Blue XLE for $25K + $100 (doc+transit permit). Includes the special Toyota discount of $4500 they have for the NY region thru August 31st. An interesting find during the search: a Red XLE listed for a little under $26K at Toyota of Batavia.

These deals I'm seeing on the east coast really make me sad (on the west coast). If I could get one at these prices on the west coast I'd be all over it. As it stands I'm waiting a bit to see if the 2021 release drops the prices on the 2020s.

Anyone get a good deal on an XLE or limited on the LA area recently? I’m finding a couple hundred under msrp + $2500 off from the mfg.

Toyota has extended the 4500 cash thru September 2020 for the NY region. I see Imperial Toyota as XLEs for $23998 on cars.com.

Question: Does Toyota offer the $4500 rebate for the Prime every year around this time for the NY region?

Not every year IIRC. But there was one year, I think the 2017 model had a $5000 rebate.

Toyota New England region now offers a $4500 rebate as well. Up from $3500 last month. However, my local Toyota dealers are very low in inventory. Not only Prius Prime but any New Cars.

If click on the link it takes you to here: Alternative Fuels Data Center: State Laws and Incentives
Maybe they mean up to $7500 include state incentives. I don't know which state offers a $3000 rebate, but there must be one.

Actually it mentions "Federal Tax Credit" right under 7500 and when the i next to it is clicked, displays "The federal tax credit is based on vehicle battery capacity. This amount reflects Prius Prime’s maximum available federal tax credit, based on Prime's battery capacity. 103". And then on the side says "Additional state benefits may be available".

Does the Federal Tax Credit for the Prime go upto $7500 for 2021? If not, it's cheap marketing.

I have checked Fueleconomy.gov just now and it mentions $4502 for 2021 Prius Prime as well. For RAV4 Prime it's $7500, perhaps it got inadvertently carried over to the Prime on the Toyota web-site.

Colorado's rebate is $4000 this year, $2500 next year. It had been $5000, which I took advantage of in 2017 and 2019

I am talking to Morristown but they are not offering those additional discounts now on limited. Do you have the final price with NJ Taxes and registration.

Can I claim the Federal EV rebate if I sell the car the same year I bought it?

So the wife really wants Blind Spot monitors and the $5 mirrors I added did not do the trick for her. (I know there is a long conversation I can have about that statement but focusing on just BSM and assuming it is needed). I have run some numbers: I bought the car for $27,500>I claim the rebate of $4,500> = $23,000> I trade in my car for roughly $25,000 and buy a Limited for $31,000 >claim the $4,500 (yes I pay over $9k in federal taxes) the total cost to me is $25,000 after all rebates etc. meaning the net cost of the change is $2,000. This includes title and taxes etc.

    Any errors in my logic?

Yes, you can get more than one EV tax credit each year. The IRS says you can't take the tax credit for the purpose of reselling. To me, you did not intend on reselling when you took the tax credit.

If you're not close to MA, it may be a hassle since that state has weird temporary license plate rules.

That's fantastic. If I (an Illinois resident) buy the car in Colorado, would I still get the $4000 Colorado rebate, or is it restricted to Colorado residents only?

Can one really get a $2,000 MD rebate as a an out-of-state (Florida in your case) resident? Is the rebate done at the dealership or in your tax filings?

All the state rebates I've seen are for residents of the state only.
