Prius Prime - official prices paid thread

I just bought mine in Massachusetts and drove it back to Mississippi. Neither MA or MS has temporary tags so I had to register the car and fly up with the plates to drive it home. MS only gives you seven days to register and dealership put the wrong sale date on the paperwork so I was hit with penalty fees by MS too. I will be honest, it was not the best experience but did save me money.

MN registration requirements:
A vehicle acquired by a Minnesota resident is subject to tax as soon as the vehicle is operated on a Minnesota street or highway. An automobile brought into Minnesota by a non-resident must be registered within 60 days; however, if the foreign state vehicle is not currently registered, the vehicle must be registered immediately. Tax for the non-resident is computed from the application date or 60 days after the vehicle is brought into Minnesota, whichever is first.

Once I have the purchase paperwork, I can fill out a MN Title application and get plates same day. I'd bring the plates/proof of insurance with me to Mass, which will allow me to drive the car from the dealer.

 

Yap, if you can get the plate ready from your own state, it will work, as long as the sale gets finalized according to the purchase paperwork. Basically you are registering the vehicle to your name before you even get to the dealer. I just don't know how the titling process works before the sale is finalized, but if NM is allowing it, I guess it should be OK.

 

2020 Prime XLE $25,624

 

Picked up a 2020 Prime XLE for $26,200. Flew from WI to VT to pick it up and drive it back. Experience wasn't bad at all with dealer taking care of all the WI tax and registration details. They gave me a 30 day interstate plate to drive the car home and charged me WI taxes and registration -- not VT -- and will overnight the WI plates to me as soon as they arrive. I bought it at White River Junction Toyota from Joe and would absolutely recommend them for anyone else considering buying from a non-CARB state to get the Toyota cash back.

 

Sounds like a great deal, can you plz post the details of the incentives and discounts?

 

I don't have the break down handy, but the $26,200 price was after dealer negotiated discount and the $3,500 Toyota cash back. There was a $300 dealer fee, but other than that it was just taxes and registration.

Hi guys, is the Uber driver incentive still valid? One dealer in MA said it is still valid with the old terms but another one mentioned I have to an Uber driver for 1 year to be eligible. Do you know what I can get the details for this?

 

I wasn't told of any restrictions that you had to be a driver for a year, I dont even know where to find that on your driver page...
he might have been thinking of some of the other rebates. You do have to finance for the uber incentive though

 

Dude sucks; several days of promises, then some b.s., then dropped the ball completely.

And this is from someone who buys mostly remotely and has a lot of patience for such.

 

Uber rebate info. Not sure why Toyota makes it difficult to find (and allowing dealers to act ignorant), so here it is.

 

I was going to wait to see if TOYOTA would bump up even higher on the $3500 rebate in NE region after 3/2.
But I visited a dealer today and talked to a sales rep. He was very eager to close the sale before the end of the month. The offer was too good to turn down. I ended up buying the 2020 PRIME LE.

plus tax and title no doc fees

With trade-in value on the 2017 PRIME Premium I switched and the tax credit of $4502 next year, I will end up paying ~$1000 for this new vehicle.
