After taxes title etc it's at 28,500 but that's with an "estimate" of 310.00 for title and registration, which I think is highly unlikely. I will ask for a receipt from the DMV and request a refund for any over the actual cost .

Don't know the VIN. The Toyota dealer in New Brunswick, NJ, told me about the damage but only after my second inquiry about the car

Can someone please explain how toyota regional rebates work, as I am seeing different answers?
It all comes down to: Can I buy a prius in another state and qualify for that region's toyota cash rebate if I will register it back in my state?
I was told by one dealer in Maryland that I do not qualify because I will register it in my state. But I read on these forums that people have done this and got big toyota rebates. I live in North Carolina, any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

 

I didn't buy mine outside of my region, but yeah, there are many who bought PRIME out of state and got Toyota rebate. However, it may be that individual dealer may have the ultimate say on whether they will process the rebate for out of state customers. I am sure others will chime in on this.

 

In June 2017, I bought a Prime in NY and registered it in CO. At that time the Toyota rebate in NY was $2500, which I received. I've been looking for a 2018 Advanced in NY/NJ to get Toyota's $5000 current rebate but haven't had any luck

 

I just bought mine in Hackensack NJ and I live in Ohio. I got the 5k rebate from Toyota.

I am really liking this car, if I could charge it at work I would hardly ever use the ICE.

Check out this VA dealer, they showed a $5000 rebate yesterday, but I don't see it now.

If their state is authorized to give the rebate, they can give it on any sale, regardless of where you live.but different states have different rebates. When I bought mine in Feb, PA had rebate of 4k, NJ had rebate of 5k...I live in PA. I drove over the bridge to nj and bought there instead! I will say,PA dealers refused to match the Nj rebate.I tried. Maybe you are trying to get 5k off in MD, but they have no rebate , or a lesser rebate there. Check the Toyota website carefully using zip codes from the dealers in each state. Or dealer could just be playing dumb hoping you will pay extra.I would not be surprised they sell to you for full price, and pocket the rebate. They are car salesmen. Don't forget!!

 

Use numbers from this thread to get an idea of what car should be otd.Then demand that price. Md might not have the 5k discount.but nj does. If you can get a premium for under 25k otd take it. I bought two in the last 3 months.premiums paid 25.9 for each otd.I think I could have gotten for 25.5 but wasn't going to walk over $400 either time. 25k might be impossible to get, but I would be thrilled if you can beat my 25.9 .some here have done it, but numbers get squirrely with trade values, different state taxes, options on each vehicle...I am happy with my 2 premium primes and prices I got. No trades, pa state tax at 6%

I think the Factory Rebate was 1,000
with tax, license and fees, it was out the door for 34,040.87
Freeman Toyota, Santa Rosa. we went way up there for our first Prius. A little more than 250 miles one way, but thousands cheaper than the Central Valley AND there are no Prime Advanced that have any color for hundreds of miles. lots of black, grey, silver and white only.

$2500 rebate on Prime from May 1 to June 3. Or, 1.9 for 60 months, or 2.9 for 72. Or, a pretty decent lease rate.
