I read in the previous pages of this thread about a dealership in Rhode Island called tarbox Toyota that is offering insane deals, 5k Toyota rebate plus 3500 off msrp or more. Look at the post I linked below, tarbox Toyota is the guy you should buy it from. Forget about Maryland because we only get 4K rebate not 5k and our processing fee is 300 bucks. It’s lower in Rhode Island.

You pay your local tax when you get home I believe.

You do not temp. register in NJ because then you have to pay NJ taxes and getting a refund requires a court hearing!
You need to complete the transaction on paper and register in NC so you can bring your NC plates with you. If you do this there is a NJ tax waiver form you fill out for the dealer so you don't pay NJ tax.

NJ wants proof you are out of state, NY is happy with just an oath on a form. MD doesn't care as long as it's not registered there or a neighboring state they have agreements with. Mass. requires you to take delivery out of state to wave taxes.

Need to make sure your home state isn't no some tax tit for tat list where you get nailed for taxes on both ends. Fla? Cal.? Ill.?

    Edit Rhode Island sales tax
State of Rhode Island: Division of Taxation:Regulations
"Rhode Island Motor Vehicle Dealers are required to add and collect sales tax on the sale of a motor vehicle to a bona fide nonresident of this state, whose state of residence imposes a sales tax on a sale of a motor vehicle to its nonresidents."

I'd try Tarbox/Balaise/Westboro and Prime. Not sure what the dealer discounts would look like now that the rebate is higher but they all gave me a competitive price off the bat. Tarbox and Prime were about 1000 lower for a Plus than the other 2. They seemed to hint they had more wiggle room but I'd have to be there in person. If you're out of state I'd try to buy in RI if you don't have a Trade in.

The dealer in PA sold the car I was going to look at. Now I’m going to NJ. Dealer says cash back or 0.9 financing. Can’t have both . I need a deal. Asking for suggestions.

The largest Toyota incentive right now is in the NY-NJ-CT region. Any suggestions for dealers I should contact in CT or NY?

Just look through this thread, Reddie lists all the dealers. I bought from Prime but I think they're almost out of inventory.

Does Team Toyota in Trenton/Lawrenceville/Princeton have a good rep.? I can get there by plane, train, and bus pretty easy. About $300 in cost for the extra $1000 in cash back over MD dealers who don't have stock anyway.

For the advanced model I still show the same $1300~ invoice to MSRP markup. Dealers have some room to deal. Last year many were making invoice deals and including the options free. (Like those alloy wheels). Most of what I see left are the optioned out ie $$ models nobody wanted before.

Stalking a Grey/Black Advanced again this year but as usual may not fill my tag. What are you looking for?

Thanks James, probably a premium. My normal drive is very short and sometimes all I use is the heated seat, LOL. But after paying full price for the 2010 I want a deal.
So you are saying I could get maybe an extra $1000 off plus the $5000 cash back?

Yep. Looks like invoice to MSRP markup for the Premium is $1,160. I get my data here. 2018 Toyota Prius Prime Premium Pricing - MSN Autos Options like floor mats, wheel locks ect add to the price of course.

1300 miles in 15 months. Almost all 3 or 4 miles round trips. But the chevy is 15 now...

the only way you'll break even is if the deals stop

if one can still get 6k off on a new premium, what will a dealer give you for yours?

How many managed to get any additional discount on the car when the one you want isn’t in stock?
I wish I can find a dealer that as the color/ trim I want but doesn’t seem like I will.
Although Toyota’s website shows there are inventory. I wish they said where..

I just traded my 17 Prime Premium with 15k for $21,000. That's not bad for how much I paid for it. ;)
