Yes, it is $399 for Documentation Fee and it is across the board in NJ. It seems like that the $399 is a government mandated fee in NJ. Also some have lo-jack costing $650, seems like a money grabber and there is no option to take the lo-jack off.

Anyone know of the rebate deals from Toyota in June or Memorial day sale.

That was really an irritation for me: the dealer put LoJack on an Advanced, which already has Safety Connect, and is thus absolutely pointless.

Yeah, that would be a deal-breaker for me! I'd walk out of that dealership unless they were willing to give it to you for free. We call those things, gimme-gotchas in the car business!! Totally unethical, but practiced by many scumbag dealers!
BTW, you also have Car Locator!! .
Tell everyone to stay away from that dealership and better yet, let Toyota Corporate know how you were treated and how you feel about it. Believe me, if enough people complain about that dealership, their CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) will drop to the floor and they won't get their normal allocation of cars. You do have "some" power.

They paid for a side/rear window tinting at no charge to me, which at least partially mitigated my irritation. I know, I know, they still came out way ahead.

Lawyers, car dealerships, congress-critters... all cut from the same mold.

Don't beat yourself up! You did more than most people do; the reason these scumbags tend to get away with it, is that most people do nothing when mistreated this way. . Money talks, BS walks!! Don't give them any business; tell everybody how they behave. They'll get theirs!

I read that they were not doing them anymore. They're just doing their normal year long discounts. Maybe a specific dealership is doing something but not big Toyota.

Good to learn about these things on this forum. Out of all the scumbags, I just need to select who is just a little bit less of a scumbag.

Also good to learn that discounts may be going off.

Can you please tell if I buy a Prius Prime from a dealer who is very far away from my home, then for the 2-year Toyota Free maintenance, do I have to go to the same dealer or can I go to my local Toyota dealer, from whom I didn't buy the car.

You can go to any Toyota dealer you wish. When I bought my 2012 Prius Plug-in, the dealer I bought it from disappointed me; I went through 4 before I settled on the current dealer.
I was a very happy Honda/Acura owner for some 25 years, where service at Honda World in Westminster is unequalled by anyone else. Unfortunately, in 2012, they were unable to provide me with a Plug-in hybrid Honda. Frankly I've found that the Toyota Prii I've owned are the cheapest and most reliable cars to own. I really wanted a coupe, preferably 2-seater plug-in hybrid weighing like my little Honda Insight coupe, 1800 lbs, but settled for the much larger and heavier Prime Advanced. I'm very happy with the Prime. . Maybe Toyota will one day offer that little coupe!!

Any dealer will do it. When my Dad passed, I got his 2012 v bought in PA and I used a dealer in NJ.

PFD, how ironic! I inherited my dad's Citroën C5 when he passed away. Of course he had retired/lived in France with my mom for about 30 years! I had to sell the car there. Very cool, smooth with one of the best suspensions in the world.

What is there to be confused about? If you negotiate well, you can leverage Costco auto services to go under Invoice provided you have the rebates. I don't know if everyone gets the Loyalty rebate coupon or not but I did after I test drove the vehicle and provided feedback to Toyota. I was surprised too to get the $500 coupon from Toyota.

Please provide my name to Hesh Ismail at DCH Brunswick Toyota in North Brunswick, NJ. He will take care of you. There is only one Advanced trim left in the lot but I see not extra accessories at all with this car (Silver with Moonstone interior). And you have just Tuesday and Wednesday left (Memorial Day Monday is a holiday) to get the $2500 rebate.

Hmm I never got a coupon offer after the test drive...did you get it for test driving the prius prime? I wonder if I can ask for it...is it at every dealership? I'm actually looking for the Plus trim and I see that dealership has a few on the lot...

Also posted this in the stickied thread (Thread for All Confirmed Prices. | PriusChat)

Got a Blizzard Pearl Premium from Berlin City Toyota in Portland, ME for $25,500 out the door excluding sales tax. Flew out from TX and drove it home in 33 hours!

    MSRP: $30,484
    Dealer discount: $3,117
    Toyota manufacturer rebate: $2,500
    Sale price: $24,867

    Doc fee: $599
    Title fee: $34

Bought it from salesman Dominick Bernard who was very helpful and I highly recommend. No pressure, no tricks, and was willing to try to match other dealers' prices.

I had to talk to a Finance Manager who tried to upsell me some extended warranties but he gave up soon after I said no and was not hostile or anything. And he was willing to send me a Buyer's Order before I bought my air ticket. Payment was done at the dealer, not by mail. And when I was at the dealer there was no attempt to nickel and dime, nothing at all was added or changed.

I was between the Plus and Premium and here are a few of the lowest quotes I got. All are Blizzard Pearl which is $395 extra MSRP.

    Premium:

    Langway Toyota (Middletown, RI): 30393 MSRP, 2893 discount, 2500 rebate: $25,000 + $220 fees
I did not pursue because I sent multiple emails that were not replied, and OTD price was close to Berlin City's, which other Priuschat members have bought from and I know won't bait and switch prices

    Plus:
Boch Toyota South (North Attleboro, MA): 27854 MSRP, 2700 discount, 2500 rebate: $22,654 + unknown fee
Were not willing to do remote transaction, and they said I would not be able to drive it home the same day even if I flew in. Also read/heard about bad reputation of Boch-owned dealers

    Expressway Toyota (Boston, MA): 28649 MSRP, 3396 discount, 2500 rebate: $22,853 + $539 fees
Was initially nice through text, but when I called the manager was quite hostile about the fact that my quote had 'expired' earlier that week, and pressured me to place a credit card deposit to 'reserve' the quote. Based on this experience alone I would strongly recommend against purchasing from Expressway Toyota. Also Boch-owned.
