FWD with snow tires is safer than AWD on whatever tires the vehicle came with. You're from New England - this is Winter driving 101!

While I agree on importance of snow tires, I have to say AWD on SNOW TIRES are far better and safer than any FWD with snow tires. I have dedicated snow tires on my current PRIME. The problem is PRIME has very low ground clearance. It is our only car right now, and we need a car that has larger cargo and high ground clearance with AWD to be able to maneuver on occasional deep snow. I am not sure what is the ground clearance of Clarity, but it is not high enough for our need. Plus clarity having such low profile tires on, if I go with OEM wheel, snow tires are also going to be very low profile not suitable for deep snow.
