Prius Plug-in Accessories - Now available in the PriusChat Shop

I just bought one of these. It's nice but the Velcro doesn't attach to the rear cargo mat, and when you have the seats up, the CanvasBack bunches up behind the seat.

 

I slightly lift the hinged cover panel behind each seat as I raise them, and use the edge of my hand to tuck the CanvasBack in there. The CanvasBack tucks right in behind these panels and avoids the bunching.

I haven't had attachment problems with the edge velcro in my 2012 Prius. Perhaps I junked the cargo mat? Can't remember - will look in the morning.

Over time I've also learned to leave the 'tween-seat zipper unzipped on the CanvasBack and I never had problems (I don't haul loose dirt back there - not yet anyway). This helps in terms of speed when you lower or raise only one seat.

 

In case anyone else makes this mistake, do yourself a favor and buy the huksy floormats from the priuschat store. I thought I was being smart getting them from Amazon as they were listed as "fitting". Turns out Amazon lists the normal Prius mats as compatible with the PiP. Returned them to Amazon and ordered from PriusChat. Got the right husky floor mats and they fit much better with the built in clips.

 

I have the factory carpet mats - can I put the husky mats on top of these mats, or I have to put them instead of the factory mats.

 

Never put one mat on top of another mat. That was a cause of stuck accelerators.

 

We had 2 Prii for 10 years (2004 and 2005, great vehicles). Both ALWAYS had 2 floor mats. NEVER an issue. Don't know why people think this. totally bogus and overblown.

Anyway, wanted to thank the Prius store for the Nav/DVD bypass unit. Installed and working perfectly in Heather's 2012 PiP advanced!
