I agree with StuffonaRock that this Donlen table was a great find, but in researching Donlen, I see that they are a pretty large vehicle fleet management company and it is quite likely that this table is oriented to THEIR acquisitions. It may also fit our possible acquisitions too but then again, it may not.

It will be interesting to see if the Prius Team responds to this.

Yes - once the prices are announced, one should be able to do it. We got prices quoted on email from various dealers. Initially my aim was to make a list of dealers willing to commit to MSRP.

But, some also started offering discounts on the MNL website. These price cuts were unexpected. I ended up getting Leaf for $100 below invoice in WA. There were 5% and $1K discounts from 2 dealers in CA. These three dealers drove down the price at all dealerships.

I don't believe that this will be the case with my area Toyota sales dealers throat slayers.

    Thanks Evnow for the info!
Received an email from Toyota in the past couple of days, encouraging prospecting buyers to pick a dealer to get a head start, but it does not make sense right now since we can not negotiate about price.

I think you are right, once the price is announced, then it will be time to negotiate, get email quotes and then pick a designated dealer for the purchase.

You can pick a dealer now just to start the discussion with that dealer and let them know you're interested. It won't hurt. You can always change dealers later if you wish.

Thanks Prius Team for clarification on the subject. Just went on the Prius PHV website and selected a dealer.

Then I thought it would be a good idea if every participating dealer were to have a designated salesperson as their Prius Plug-In sales Rep, product specialist or liaison in order to communicate with the same person every time.

Just so everybody knows, I'm working to get a list of "PriusChat Certified" dealers that will offer a fixed price with a little discount off of the MSRP price. What that discount will be is still up in the air since pricing hasn't been announced and dealers don't know what their margins are on the Plug-In yet.

Being in Florida, I chose Priority Toyota on I-95 in Virginia for now. If you working with a different dealer, please let us know!

Suggestion : Minimum discount. If someone wants to discount further, more power to them.

Scott, your PluginSupply conversion is the best available aftermarket option available in my opinion. I see you have the 10 kWh pack instead of the base 4 kWh.

A few OEM advantages over conversion:

    - 10 years / 150k miles warranty
    - eAT-PZEV emission rating allowing HOV lane access
    - $3k tax credit (conversion gets 10% of the cost so you probably got $1k)
    - Crash tested for safety
    - Pre-conditioning feature to preheat or precool with the power from the plug
    - Probably get a special plugin app in the Entune head unit

I'm sure you probably don't need individual nominations Danny, but I can't help but mention San Luis Obispo Toy, or some other CA central coast dealership. Living here in the "middle" it seems all the action is either in LA or SF and I'm hoping that I could deal locally rather than 250 miles in either direction. Just a note, thanks!

Set for Frankfurt unveiling on September 15!
How does one calculate MPG if you start with a full battery charge?
IMO, there should be 2 ratings: MPGe for EV miles and MPG for hybrid miles after depletion.

This picture does not have the plug-in port and maybe these wheels will be available on trim levels other than Prius Five.

Remember, the pic is for RHD model so the plugin port should be on the other side. The badge clearly said PLUGIN HYBRID next to SD (Synergy Drive).

Take a look at high resolution picture.

They appear to be gun metal powder coated alloy wheels with rim protection covers.
