Prius over Golf TDI? Mixed feelings

That is absolutely correct. There were 160 complaints (161 w/ mine).
I had also considered keeping it and simply start fueling solely with B5, but is is somewhat inconvenient to drive 30 minutes north to find a station that offers it.
It is a shame since I really loved the cargo space in the wagon, the fuel economy, the handling, the torque (I could spin the tires with no problem), and the engine purred at speeds over 70
The Prius is overall a wonderful car, but somewhat bland in the driving excitement dept.

 

oil on the VW is not free
you just pay more for the other stuff you dealer needs to do.
the prius is cheap at service less braking replacements for sure with the miles you drive.
diesel is more exp. and the vw cost you more with the same level of acc.
its smaller?
so wy stil buy it?

This graph impresses me too.

A 10 year old Toyota has the repair frequency of a 5 year old domestic or VW. If we figure that people sell the car at those ages, and that the depreciation on the 5 year old car is 60% and 90% on the Toyota, the Toyota cost 75% as much for equivalent new car prices.

Then add in the Toyota savings from less downtime, cheaper insurance, and cheaper fuel.
