I think the answer to this question is the answer to another question: Do you need to haul people or things?
You have a Prime and my Prius was rated at only 52 combined mpg. My 2025 Camry XLE is 47 combined mpg.
Mine is rated 54 mpg, but it is very easy to get over 60 mpg by being a little easy on the pedals. With hypermiling, which is being even easier on the pedals, you get over 70 mpg.
I can get 60mpg in city driving in the Gen 4 and I've gotten close to 70mpg on the highway with the Prime.
I did not do a lot of city driving with my Gen 4. most of my regular commute was at 60 mph speeds. EDIT: Are you calculating with US gallons (4 liters) or the larger Imperial gallon used in the rest of the world? I am slightly surprised the US did not redefine the mile too. LOL
US gallons. I have no idea who still uses the imperial gallon here. We’ve all but switched to L/100km (and kWh/100km for EV).
I looked. As of 2021, the imperial gallon continues to be used as the standard petrol unit on 10 Caribbean island groups, consisting of: four British Overseas Territories (Anguilla,[13] the British Virgin Islands,[14][15] the Cayman Islands,[16] and Montserrat)[17][18] and six countries (Antigua and Barbuda,[19] Dominica,[20] Grenada,[21][22] Saint Christopher and Nevis,[23] Saint Lucia,[24] and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines[25]). Other than the United States, petrol is sold by the US gallon in 13 other countries and four US territories: the Caribbean countries of Dominican Republic and Haiti, the Central American countries of Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, the South American countries of Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, the Pacific Ocean countries of Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau, which are associated countries of the United States, the African country of Liberia, a former protectorate of the United States,[39] and the US territories of American Samoa,[40] the Northern Mariana Islands,[41] Guam,[42] and the US Virgin Islands.[43] Puerto Rico ceased selling petrol by the US gallon in 1980.[44]
