Prius not driven for 3 mos. - ok to buy ?

there is no typical scenario that you can measure, without tech stream software and a laptop. i would put the battery concern out of my head, and concentrate on average tank mpg's.

 

If you're driving in normal conditions it should stay around 3/4 full charge. A lot of lower speed level roads, and/or tooling around parking lots, it'll stay in electric and happily run it down to two pips. Get back to higher speeds and more acceleration, it shouldn't take long to get back up up, 10~15 minutes at most.

 

Don't know the official specs, but obviously it depends on if you're driving such that you are using the battery on the highway or not. Going downhill for a mile helps top up the battery. And if you're using both engine and battery, it won't charge up much during that time. (if at all) I've got one very long downhill near here that always brings me to top, or one bar from top, depending how low the battery was beforehand.

 

It doesn't work that way. The battery continually charges and discharges as you drive. You can use the DISP button on your steering wheel to display the Hybrid System Indicator. This will let you see when you are applying power and when regeneration (charging) is happening. If you want to fully charge the battery, just drive up the biggest hill around and coast all the way down. The coasting will charge your battery. But as soon as you tap the accelerator, the battery will begin to discharge.

So I wouldn't think about it at all.
