    I don't know the Dcl before the campaign, but I see that the battery output is allowed spikes up to 28.6 Kw / 130a for a fration on second, then the ecu lowers it to 21kw. With this solution toyota protected the inverter and can still claim the max power output is still 136 hp as it was before the campaign, but only for a fraction of a second, what we have now is a depowered 127 hp vehicle.

    21kw=28 hp
    99 ICE hp + 28 electric hp =127 hp

    28kw =37 hp
    99 ICE hp + 37 electric hp =136 hp

    If that's the case Toyota's following the same course as Honda with their second gen Civic Hybrid: there was a similar software update, protected the battery but made the car less peppy. The batteries still failed in abysmal numbers btw.

    I would still like to see more from somebody who has data for this parameter taken as systematically and avidly before applying the update as after, and who has identified whatever inputs it depends on in normal operation ...

    ... before even coming near drawing such a conclusion about what the update did.

    There is a difference in power output since the update.
    This is what I can tell from the performance since then.

    Even sounds like the engine is under heavier load.
    That could be a huge problem for headgaskets.
    Specially if people do not watch their coolant temp.

    It would be interesting to roll back the update.
    Has anyone done that?

    What's the update called, and what's it's date? I'm pretty sure we've got everything, and I haven't noticed a change.

    Addendum: last one I see is dated January 2019, and says SOSH-R66-1A, in the letter fromToyota Canada.

    Dealership invoice has this too:

    20TOZZR66-CAM CAMP R66 - HYBRID SYSTE

    I have trown the letter, but found the appointment in my agenda on 21/05/2019, I assume it's the SOSH-R66-1A

    Posts on the internet asserting it feels and sounds different are easy to come by, and so are posts from people with the same updates saying it doesn't. The situation is a lot like what happens with various touted performance gadgets.

    That's why people who collect data in reproducible ways are contributing more to the conversation than repeated chest-beating about how something feels or sounds different to the person saying so.

    Reporting DCL values is a good start, but I still haven't seen a thread where somebody starts by getting it well characterized before the update, then shows what's different after.

    I also don't think the value is constant in the firmware, either before the update or after. I could be wrong, but my understanding is it is already somewhat variable depending on conditions, and we don't have much of a story for how that happens yet. Any before-to-after-update effect would have to be convincingly distinguished from that.

    Maybe, but maybe not. It could be that more load on the engine means less thermal cycling since it does more work.

    I found a hybrid report before the update, dcl and ccl are the same as after the update. I was not allowed to upload an html file, so I have changed the extension into .Zip. To open the file please change back to .html

    Here is how the values differ per car:
    C-HR ccl 31,92kw dcl 21kw
    Auris 10 ccl 24kw dcl 21kw
    Prius 3. ccl 25kw dcl 21kw
    Prius phv ccl 30kw dcl 39.5kw
    Rav4 ccl 38.76 dcl 39.5kw
