Yes, that was the starting point.

The 'risk' of the residual is also the 'benefit' of the residual.

Huh ? $22,800 last I time I checked three days ago.

You keep resurrecting an old thread.

II package in Blue/charcoal or red/charcoal. Has mats. (MSRP 23,750). Lease residual 15,504 @ 36 months. $1,000. cash drive offs (approx) means a payment of $199.99 + tax (less cash drive offs will = a slightly higher payment) (with great credit) or BUY this cash for $22,222 plus tax and title and use the 0% for 36 months, 1.9 for 48 months or 2.9 for 60 months (good to great credit permitted)...ONLY a few cars at this pricing/terms, must reach Dianne for this. :) My #'s are below.

Thank you Dianne for providing great prices and a terrific reference point for all of us shopping for a great deal on a new Prius. I am in the market and have been to several dealers in the North West DFW market. Dianne's numbers are the clearest, consistent low price. In my market i would need to add about $2000 to any deal for taxes, but other than not understanding that at first, I have found the great prices listed on this forum, to be a great resource.

If one of us Texas folks flew out to California, would we be able to buy a Prius from you, Dianne? I was thinking it might make a great road trip.

    Best regards,

    Chad Bowers

Hi Chad! Thank you! It's nice to be appreciated. :)

That said, you being in TX and me being in CA, there are some guidelines we have to go thru. This state's funny about their sales tax. I have shipped many a car to Texas, as well as other states. That would have to be a cash deal OR a deal where I as a dealership am not doing the financing. TFS in California is not approving out of state deals or leases. Titling elsewhere is tricky and they won't approve deals.

If you plan to pay cash, and come out for a car, the state of CA will want your sales tax collected by me IF you drive the car off my lot and head home. I'd also need $20 for the 1-way trip permit.

You don't have to pay sales tax again in TX, but ours may be higher here anyway. I can ship a Prius to TX for about $675-700. That would be how to avoid CA sales tax altogether.

Whether to ship or not would depend on the difference in tax, your time value and gas & plane flight, and expenses travelling back!

That's math only you can do. Call me if you'd like to explore this avenue? Thanks! :)
