we live in termite central. took 6 years to rid the house of them, but they're under every rock and tree. ants too
You do not find them adorable? I put toilet paper rolls out in the woods to count 'em They quit whatever they are doing and go for the baby food.
How’d you rid the house of them ? Out here they tent the house and fumigate. That takes care of them .
That’s what keeps the industry at $5B annually. You’ll never get em all, but the treatment is effective at its intended purpose.
Because you live in there, normally, fumigant has to go away fast. I could talk about the chemical but...reasons. You know what New Orleans does? It's effective but needs to be reset after every flood.
Most fumigants are fast dispersing. Hence the need for the tent to “hold it in”. There are standards for removing the tent, so as to not endanger those that work with the fumigation. Just thankful we are in the dry heat out here and don’t have the humid heat around the Crescent City .
here, they drill holes around the inside and outside of your foundation, and inject a '15 year chemical'. but we chased them from one location until they finally called it quits. now, we have a monitoring system
i got up one morning and as i was about to go out the slider to the patio, i noticed some holes in the hardwood flooring. upon closer inspection, the little 'bug'gers we poking their heads out and waving to me
I thought by monitoring system you meant something 21st century. Not a Terminix tech. But probably more effective.
yeah, idk. for 12 years, i tried diy. the mice got the better of me, and i hired the 'official pest control company of the boston red sox' they've done a much better job than me, so i don't ask questions, just write the check every q
Environmental Health Services. And they are a “pest control partner”. The professionals do good work. A check worth writing every quarter to keep all of em at bay.
Got the plasma guns too? At least they are wearing PPE. Some don’t treat the chemistry they are handling with enough respect . But sounds like their standards are appropriate .
'15 year chemical' @28. Hear my laughter. Seriously, the anti-termite biz could double in size if enough qualified 'baggers' could be found to work with vikane (TM) at low salaries. It is a truly amazing chemical, particularly if you have mitochodria. And you do
..and the field of physiology mourns your absence. They regret allowing people to not learn about their fascinating internal toolbox. Heck of it is that those who can really teach the stuff, who really sparkle, get big grant$ and go that way. Bad teachers teach as their bad teachers taught them. It's a generational thing, like family violence but without the violence. == Meanwhile, back in this thread's topic, we may have established that offshoots of Prius hybrids are taking market share. That it is not yet pure electrics' moment. But that moment approaches..
