Probably because I bought all 4 sets :)

I have the LS460 bi-xenon pre-2010 model and also 2010 bi-xenon model. Only difference is the shroud.

    Want a set? :D

Are you guys going to take out the headlight housing, bake it to open it up and retrofit the projector in there?

That is correct. I am still debating which projector to use.

    Here are my choices:
    1) FX-replica - bi-xenon projector
    2) LS460 - bixenon projector
    3) LS600h - triple-LED projector

They are also listed in order of easiest job...

I just need to find some spare headlights to work on...

How do you know 1 is easier? What do you look for to determine that?

Are you looking for OEM HID, OEM halogen or aftermarket lights to retro?

You got it. Already have 1 opened up & half way finished.

Doesn't matter which housing, as long as its not too expensive or damaged.

Difficulty would be size of the protector and the mounting points it has.

I'll do a writeup as well, when I find some spare housings.

I got my JDM lights from a member here. I was also looking on ebay & craigslist. Ebay has those aftermarket halogen lights for about $180 a set.

How about use Morimoto Mini projector implanted in the stock housing? There won't be any cutting involved and the pics look awesome.

You wouldn't need to cut much for those projectors I listed also. And the output is much nicer compared too the mini h1.

Can the halogen bulbs be easily replaced by me? What does a headlight replacement cost at the dealer?

How about putting some real LEDs in for driving lights? Those phony ones just cry for a conversion.

Theres just 2 reasons why I wont use those headlights........
    1) Dont like the halo.....just doesnt fit the Prius
    2) The headlights a marked for Halogen use. If a cop were to pull you over for HIDs or youre state has a vehicle inspection, you cant get out of it cause they dont have the "D4R" stamped on the headlight.

As for the Morimoto Mini.....its a wanna be. Cannot be compaired to a true HID projector. Besides, I think you would still have to open the headlight to get them installed, so why not do it right the first time. :D

I agree, no halos on a Prius. Halos belong on BMWs.

Yes. You dont even need to pull the bumper to replace just the bulb. The stealer might charge for the removal of the bumper & then they might not. All depends on the stealer.

Now if your talking about the headlight itself...it can be replaced by the DIYer in a few hours & will include the removal of the front bumper. I wouldnt even try the stealer for this as they might charge WAY too much....how much $$$, who knows.

Thinking about it. Dont know if I'll go with white or amber

I was thinking a dual white/amber setup for white drl/driving lights and amber signals.

Here's a photo of the LS460's I'll attempt to slap into the Prius headlight...

And if I'm really daring, slap in the LS600hL triple-LED-projector! Only downside is that I will be losing my highbeams. But, I may be able to retrofit the mini-h1 projectors into the fog lights and use those for fog/High-beam units...

Those may not fit!!! Do you know the size from top to bottom. The FX-R right now are a tight fit with the E46 shroud.
