Don't think for a minute that all of us on this site wouldn't love to see GM come around for real. We have to keep the pressure on GM to get off their asses and build a quality alternative to the foriegn built hybrids. I think the thing that burns me the most is the verbal crap that comes from the CEO's and then when they're proven wrong by the market, they change their song and dance. These people still think the same, they're only going this route because of the PR that will come from it. This corp. culture is killing the U.S. auto makers. The U.S. auto makers don't want electric vehicles period, and that's where all this is going with the hybrids.

You know, I somehow imagine that Toyota Motor Corporation not only will have it on showroom floors by the end of 2008; I imagine they've produced multiple designs, have 3 different Prius prototype versions in testing, and are already approaching a point at which they're willing to make a decision on which one to refine and prepare for production.

And it is really unfortunate because we obviously have the best engineering talent in the US, we have the technology, and our auto workers are the world's best. Toyota and Honda manage to built high-quality cars in the US. But our auto makers have an amazing ability to find the most incapable morons to run the corporations.

lol.. you think that's cheesy. GM just copied Toyota. In Japan, the Pontiac Vibe is called the Toyota Voltz. Just chop off the 'z' and you're done.

Maybe when GM starts its ad campaign for the car they can find an actor to portray Emil Volta as the spokeman like they found someone to portray Harley Earle.

I read about the 'hybrid' Saturn Vue this morning in CR.

I am not sure if the magazine was quoting EPA, or CR numbers, but

    Vue: 24 mpg
    Rav: 23 mpg

I want a full EV, or PHEV. I really want one. But I'd have to be an idiot to ignore decades of GM screwing their customers with pieces of s**t that they refused to stand behind.

Buy new tech from them ? Ain't gonna happen.
