Prius driven 50 miles with parking brake on...

    +1 to Bisco's condolences. I lost my sister to a brain aneurysm 14 years ago. I still miss her. At least it was fast.

    Condolences to you and your family. This serves as a reminder of what is really important. Perhaps the OP should get the e-brake checked/fixed and laugh about the silly things that we all sometimes do with his sister.

    I don't service this car but I changed out a motor and replaced the windshield wiper motor on an old Volvo back in the day. Now I'm thankful for extra money in the budget that doesn't force me into survival mode anymore.

    Just a fyi...it is very likely that performing any sort of brake pad replacement on a Gen3 prius will require the linear solenoid valve calibration procedure to be done. I cannot find instructions for pad replacement only, but in the 3rd gen service manual for brake caliper replacement, initialization and calibration of the linear solenoid valve is listed as the last step. My dealer confirmed that it the calibration is needed after a pad replacement-- but I cannot verify this 100%.
