Yeah Prius Camper how dare you throw those two words at him “science and data”? His crowd doesn’t believe it doesn’t trust it doesn’t understand it. Jewish Space lasers now your talking!
- how to determine if the prius cats are clogged or how soon the o2 sensor will throw a 420. - will burning E85 (/ E15) gas help clean the cats ? - there was somewhere a rule of thumb that a cat lasts for 10 yrs .. - autozone has a series of suggestions about cat end of life --- - car shaking at idle -- smell of rotten eggs from exhast - car performance reduced - 'hot ' cats (temps high due to reduced flow)
California doesn't really care about emissions. It's a structured racket: create another useless governmental regulatory bloat agency that drains taxpayers and charges corporations to license products solely for California. Driving into LA we always see the brown haze over the city, and the sheer amount of vehicles sitting in huge amounts of traffic (not to mention crapton of semi trucks from both overactive ports-Los Angeles and Long Beach) while the rich drive past in newer vehicles via special toll lanes (mostly). California also has a regulated permit exchange by which legal industrial pollution permits are bought/sold. The price of obedience to these laws? For those poor or middle-class, screwed. And they pinch just enough so either industry and corporations put up with it for "fun in the sun" or run screaming elsewhere. I asked to convert my Prius to full electric in order to be eligible for the carpool lane via special permitting process (case by case basis), and they said no, and encouraged me to buy a new electric vehicle off their approved list.
just got the cats removed .. replaced with new ... have sligthly larger pipe diameter and cats are closer to ex. mani .. seems the cat temps are thusly higher (or at least get hotter faster) .. also shorter pipe between the 2 ... (where the O2 sense is) .. seems the engine was breathing a bit better (subtle amount) .. mpg's seemed low then they seemed high .. maybe it was that fill up with shell gas .. i still have leaking tires so that is dragging but so far seems to be running ever so slightly smoother and I imagine it will get better with more on/off cycles as the computer better adjusts ...
They may BE here, but they COME FROM elsewhere in the U.S. I want people to remember that part when they complain about DC. (Yeah, I live here.)
A good measure of where white collar crime rates are highest is the same measure as number of lawyers per capita by state. Here's the top 10 in United States: source: LAWYERS PER CAPITA BY STATE | The Last Gen X American
So to greatly reduce crime we defund the US government. That should reduce the lawyer count in DC greatly.
That's actually what white collar crime has spent billions to train you to think... The belief that government needs its funding reduced has never been about fiscal responsibility but revenue redistribution. Every social service that has funding cuts has always had a direct correlation with tax breaks and subsidies for the ultra wealthy further growing the wealth inequality gap to a greater extreme than we ever thought possible. The lawyers themselves aren't the problem, it's the criminals they represent that are the problem. Lawyers can be incredibly valuable when it comes to addressing social injustice and environmental health.
The Lawyers in government enriching themselves at taxpayers expense are a large part of the problem. Trump was the first modern President to leave office less wealthy than when he entered.
If that's what you remembered about it all... Yikes... How about 1/2 million killed in a Pandemic and most of those deaths could of been prevented had he not failed in every possible way when it came to protecting us? And how about how he created an entire new cult so caught up in his lies that they thought they could keep him in power by killing members of congress before they made the vote count official? You think history is gonna forget about all that and just remember his loss of wealth? Seriously? This dude is responsible for almost as many deaths of citizens of the United States as Robert E. Lee and the Confederacy you think and you think it's about the failure of his personal wealth?
politics - political party systems (dem rep green ind , etc) religion - divisions of belief systems (monotheistic - polythestic {the many religions and their subdivisions }, atheistic,
is it a coincidance that TX: just got a double spankin with the electric grid / green energy with-holdings .. and a 100 yr cold snap right after talk of succession and 2nd ammendment sancuary were coming off the table ?
Just want to add a couple updates... If you decide to sell your OEM cat to help theft victims in states that require OEM replacement and discover that your cat is clogged and can't be cleaned enough for re-use you could sell it to a scrapper as it was explained today here: Also, I follow lots of newspaper websites in California and it's amazing how often I see articles like this one, which is just the latest: https://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/news/four-arrested-in-catalytic-converter-thefts-in-petaluma/
I spent a little more on shipping and finding a fast shop that will do the swap for you takes some time (not all shops will use your 'bring it in part' ... ) .. i dont know the list of states that require oem .. then there is a smaller # of states that require 'new oem' ... its not a 'fast and simple' swap ... the hardest part is likely the removal of the 2 bolts at the flange because the bolt heads spin in an inaccessible area ? .. A shop that knows what they are doing, with car on a lift, 2 people worknig can have an old one out, and new one in (o2 sensor functioning) and welded in under ~15 minutes.
Actually the bolts don't spin... They are part of the exhaust header so no issue with spinning. Also the inexpensive cats on Ebay for $130 are a direct fit and comes with a well designed pipe clamp for the back end so no welding required. I charge one hour to put one in... Though I've not done enough of them yet to get down to an hour, but the more I do the more efficient the installation routine and I only charge total hours it takes once I'm experienced, not when I'm learning/refining.
well after my dilly dallying trying to find a shop that was expedient (if i'd have known the bolts dont spin i may have attempted the job myself . it would be doable without a lift , boy my dad talked me right out of it .. he tried to talk me out of doing this cat swap .. i think because the existing looks good .. and is worknig .. but even tonight when i notified 'the money cleared' he still wasnt fully onboard but was suprised ... I spent $175 at the shop and i had no idea they were gonna be that fast but they told me the pipe diameters weren't gonna work with the clamp (in the kit) (i sugested pipe expander and guy said he would have to pull the rest of exhaust off to do that then it would increase the job price ) .. -- the ebay drop in was 105$ ... i'm not sure what a stroight pipe could be acquired that should save $ would have been and how it would affect performance (what tiny gain in hP) -- I have yet to inspect what they did down there .. just sick of working on the car as the ABS unit failed tripped and the soft pedal and the continous tone happened 4 weeks ago .. (module replaced 3wks ago and tone happened t again today) which was remidied with adding fluid to resoirvor .. for how long will it last now ?? do not know ..... always something ---
When I saw my first aftermarket replacement cat I too thought the pipe diameters were wrong as well. But when I put it in, it fit perfectly with the clamp in the kit. And you're lucky you found a muffler shop that would do the work for so cheap and with parts you bring in. Lowest price I found from a muffler shop was $400... Though more and more shops are offering $200 cash if you bring your car in and get your cat swapped because their scrappers pay them $1K or more for OEM cat.
