Sorry but I think you misunderstand what the Prolong grid charger is actually for. Whether you have a brand new battery or one that's seen alot of miles, either way using the Prolong charger regularly will help extend the life of the battery and keep your MPG maximized as a result. What it will not do is to bring back a module with a cell that has reversed, that is permanent damage and it needs to be replaced. Also the Prolong charger does the entire battery pack all at once (hence the term "grid charger") while the RC style chargers require pack disassembly and are checked one module at a time. The RC chargers do allow you to measure relative capacity of a module (which helps in matching modules) but load testing also needs to be done one module at a time and is probably THE most critical part of the entire battery rebuilding process since battery voltage under load is exactly how the hybrid computer manages the entire system.

    An update on some orders:

First I'd like to apologize for the order taking much much longer than anyone had wanted or anticipated. The China-US trade spat that is ongoing has been interfering with customs and inspections on both sides of the ocean in retaliation.

We have just received notice that the shipment has left the US import control after nearly a month of being delayed. It is on its way to us in Colorado where we do a couple final tests and QC checks. We have already scheduled extra equipment to allow for testing and packaging all of the incoming batteries overnight following their delivery to allow for next day shipment out to customers and prevent any further delays.

In the event that even with the extra equipment and help we cannot get all of them shipped out the next day, we will be prioritizing orders based on when they were received. First ordered, first shipped. All batteries will ship UPS ground from Colorado. This should take 2-5 days to reach you. We currently anticipate delivery to us on Wednesday June 6th. Shipping out to you guys on Thursday June 7th. Delivery to you is UPS Ground time after that. You can check the times here: https://www.ups.com/maps

As always, if you cannot wait for your delivery date we can offer a full 100% refund until the batteries arrive at our facility (approximately June 6th for these ones).

Do you have the latest stats on # of your kits installed? Any feedback on miles driven by some of your early adopters?

Thanks. I am contemplating whether to buy the Prolong Charger or use the money toward a new battery. I don't have any error codes but occasionally have the fast drop in voltage while idling at a fast food drive thru and/or in a traffic jam. I have heard this is a sign of battery fatigue.

I know @ericbecky here put over 3K miles on one before loaning it to a customer. Last I heard it was still operating like new.

We have nor heard of any issues here.

I don't generally get updates. The best info is actually here on the forum as that's direct feedback.

I know some taxi drivers have put a few tens of thousands of miles on the packs which is probably the most miles. My battery itself is probably the longest installed, but not the highest mileage. No degradation reported or observed.

The pack I had was actually resold to another forum member who likes to fuss with batteries. Maybe when he has time he will eventually release some results. He's definitely doing some fun stuff to it.

Anyone have a lead on a reliable, affordable, mobile installation wizard in LA? About to get my battery in the mail and would love to get it installed ASAP. Looks easy enough to do on my own but I lack the proper tools and would rather not mess it up. Lemme know! Thanks.

I don't actually know anyone, but you should only require a socket wrench and screw driver plus some heavy lifting. Most mobile battery module replacers should be able to do it, but I know of nobody personally.

Perhaps @Raytheeagle or @sfv41901 know of someone.

If I were in your position, I’d call most of the guys listing their services on Craigslist and see if any of them have reviews or are recommended.

Or if you are lucky enough (or talk really nice) @JC91006 may be able to help depending on his availability :).

Since you’ve posted to 2k1’s thread, I am assuming you bought one of his kits:whistle:?

Good luck and keep us posted (y).

You could try calling Jue Motors in Covina. Not sure they will want to take on the job.
Might be cheaper to have them put in a NEW Toyota battery?

You will be paying for quite a few hours of labor for assembly.
    Plus the usual installation labor.
So a totally wild guess...maybe somewhere between $600 and $1,000.

What do you feel is an "affordable" price?

I have an installation to do tomorrow in Los Angeles, if he's close and will have all his parts, I can do both fairly quickly

The kit is really good for diy.
You can save money vs other options because you exchange time for labor $$.
Nice to see the community help others.

Install party is a cool idea. Someone should set that up.
