I live in Virginia and there were no Primes anywhere around me so I traveled to CarMax in Maryland and saved over $4000 over what my locate dealer would charge me to locate it and pick it up. For an 8 hour total drive time I saved over 4 grand!

I despise this. I have begun to shift it into neutral if I have to sit longer than a minute or so at a light. This is one of the many things I really liked on my old Priuses.

I actually keep my foot on the brake at a light, no matter how long it's going to be, don't want someone hitting my backside and pushing me into traffic!

At train tracks where it's going to be a long time, I switch to park, not neutral, so someone doesn't push me into the next car.

So I never see the creep, even on my old Prius.

I despise my share of things, but ok with the creep. I'll take it over roll-back.

What I remember of my gen2, the creep was slower than in a typical automatic. Maybe it has gotten stronger over generations.

It's possible to not have either.

Our 06 civic hybrid had very little creep. So little that it took some getting used to. I remember my daughter remarked on it, roll-back caught them by surprise.

As for the computer touchscreen booting-up time: Every car maker seems to have this problem. If any car maker has a computer infotainment screen that turns on instantly -- every part of it -- then they are doing the smart thing and putting the computer to sleep, rather than turning it off when the engine/car is turned off. All automakers should have their computers go to sleep when the car is off, and only after 12-24 hours (based on very minimal battery drain, which they could figure out) should the computer be turned off completely. This would (should) insure that the computer screen comes up immediately and can be used within a second or two of the car being turned on. I can't figure out why carmakers don't address this simple issue, given that people everywhere complain about this problem in all cars (not just Toyotas).

Yes, it amazes me that so many people are lazy about doing research into what is generally either their most-expensive or second-most-expensive lifetime purchase -- a car (second if they own a house also). I read pro reviews online, I visit forums like this, and I watch lots of YouTube reviews, and even read sections of online owners manuals for vehicles I'm interested in; and then I go to multiple dealerships to test-drive the same model numerous times, spread out over several weeks or months, usually (I'll go to dealerships with a list of things to look out for), and I also ask to just sit in the car at the dealership for 15-30 minutes with the car on but without driving it, to look over the car completely and go through all the buttons and computer-screen options, etc. I really don't understand people who will spend tens of thousands of dollars on a car, and not know if it has a spare tire or whatever. I'm actually here not as a Prius owner or potential buyer, but as somebody who plans to buy the new RAV4 Prime, and I'm curious to hear what Prius Prime owners have to say about pros and cons (because the RAV4 PHEV is a new vehicle, so nobody knows yet how it will perform). I have numerous friends and relatives that own Priuses and love them (but none who own Primes), so I am trying to learn more about what makes these Toyota PHEVs good (or not so good).

Lack of a spare tire is huge. I've only had one car without it in my life, and with that car I bought a full-size wheel/tire as a spare that I'd throw in the back for long road trips (and keep in my garage when driving locally).

I'm with you there. (y) I think the only thing that'll stop this trend is to stop buying cars without 'em.

I very much like posts like that of the OP, and many of the discussions following. If you don't like to hear negative comments, move on to the next thread. Many of us like to hear these comments, where are not destructive comments but rather factual comments. Some here are thinking of moving from one car model to another, one car trim to another, one drivetrain type to another, etc., and these kinds of discussions are immensely helpful and useful.

Although I get where you're coming from I would counter that in my experience engineers do the absolute minimum amount of UI testing. Perhaps that scenario seems far fetched to them but actually might occur fairly often in a normal use situation. There are ways of reducing interactions by requiring stop points. If you can't change the gear shift without pressing the brake then you can't accidentally switch into reverse is a classic example. Poke Yoke is poorly executed in my experience.

Why do you care if it creeps? There is a very good thing about the creep is that it helps prevent wheel spin from a stop. The whole instant 100% torque catches me off guard sometimes and the creep reduces the effect a bit.

I might need to make an appointment with my Toyota Dealer.

The muffler damper and the window return springs are both causing problems. Though sometimes I think the windshield wiper governor could be the real culprit.

You can lower the rear head rests to help with visibility.

Not really an annoyance, but a surprise. I bought a 2020 Prime today. I knew it had a little less cargo space (and no spare) compared to my 2007 Prius. However, it didn't really hit home until I started emptying all the little cubby holes and hidden compartments in the 2007 to transfer my stuff into the 2020. I realized two things instantly:
    1. I really like little compartments in my car for misc. things like first aid kits and emergency tools
    2. I'm a damn packrat with all the "better have it just in case" junk I've been hauling around in my car. I had a much-needed pairing down of stuff when I got home from the dealership tonight.
Still like the car, just missing the secret compartments and the 2-door glove compartment. ;)

Yes but I have kids in the back a lot of the time. OR Toyota could just put a stupid rear wiper on the car.

I cannot fathom the logic that determines when the engine fires up. Random charge levels, random HVAC settings, it's freaking annoying as hell. I want to run the car on electric to the maximum extent possible and it seems like the Prime just fights that constantly. It's way worse now that it is colder.

At least I figured out why Toyota doesn't sell any fully electric vehicles, because they don't know how to make an electric car. It REALLY makes me long for the Leaf.

Minor annoyance that I always mean to bring up here but forget...

The light in the charge port should light up when you approach the vehicle with the key in your pocket rather than when you depress the trigger to unhook the electrical connector. I want to see the charge port so I can press the unlock button and then press the trigger. Instead, it's pitch black until I press the trigger, which is a waste of electricity as I don't need that light by then.
