No worse than you trusting that you're getting $3700 worth of service by giving them $2000 up front.

My dad likes to say "boy get your nice person out there and change your own oil....":focus:

Different User ID-I don't post there much, and there are several other lubrication boards to go to. BITOG has people on there that can put things in layman's terms. I have a neighbor that is a Tribologist for an oil company. Boy has he schooled me on oil. Didn't know what one was until we got to talking one day. It must pay well, the annual taxes on his house must be more than my salary!

Wasn't Mr. Spock one of those on Star Trek with they had that big problem with Tribles?

I've also heard one expert say if you pull off all the legs on your hamster or Gerbil you'll have a nice Trible! :D

Episode was called, "The Trouble With Tribbles" I'm somewhat ashamed I remember that.

Why is this stickied if it isn't true? Maybe the thread title could be changed to "2010 Prius oil debate" or something and unstickied since the interval was not officially revised?

    ** I've unstickied this thread **

It's gone way off topic and the change isn't likely to happen this year.

Sorry guys - this thread started off being about whether Toyota was revising the OCI, not whether a 3rd party brand would allow us to extend the interval w/o the blessing of the manufacturer. There's a Care and Maintenance forum for that type of discussion.
