What is the liquid? Oil on top and froth/emulsion on the bottom?
    Do you short trip?

Yeah something like that. I keep thinking the bottom is like mayonaise, a mix of oil and water. There's a little gasoline in the mix too I'd speculate.

A fair number of our runs are short, maybe 3~4 kms. Occasional runs of 30~40 kms.

I'm really surprised at what gets caught in an OCC. I should get one asap

If you look through the throttle with the plate held open you can see what it's catching. There was invariably a little "lake" down there on ours, basically the car's built-in OCC. But the level was stable, which to me infers that it's sort of a "surge pile", ie: stuff is landing there, but not staying, eventually sucking into the engine.

OMG really? An engine recall? Do you still have your vehicle? Mine is having its first oil pressure level problem and I’m fearing it’s a big one. Taking it in today. Fingers crossed no damage as a result of driving with low pressure. I do not understand why this car doesn’t have an independent oil level symbol like it does for tire pressure....... damn I’m pissed!
