Something comparable to that belt may be be available through automotive retailers: it's basically a hold-strap, with a locking buckle. The further issue with the Prime: the D-Rings, highlighted in yellow here:

are missing, their connection points would be below the Prime deck. It is possible there's weld-nuts in the body, for D-ring connection, at the locations the regular 4th gen Prius has it's D-rings. You'd need to check regarding weld-nut locations, and then figure out some sort of extended D-rings, long enough to be accessible above the Prime deck.

We have a 2020 prius prime and after 3 flat tires in our other car in the last 2 years decided it's time to get a spare. We got a used donut tire from a regular prius, I sewed a cover for it with slits for the seat belt near one of the slots in the rim and strapped it to the back passenger seat (not the middle seat). It takes up 2 seats, we drove several hundred miles and it was quite secure.

I ended up attaching a strap to the left backseat of my Prime which is a 4 seater '2017. In fact there is a nice hooking system in the backrest of both seats, I thing is purposed for fastening a child safety seat.

I am aware that it is not a perfect solution because turning upside down the car as may happen in accidents it would make the donut spare tyre to rotate vertically.

Anyway, I reckon it is better than leaving the tyre wandering around into the trunk as happened during the last three years... and the tyre remains pretty stable in position.

This is a pretty old thread and I see that I had commented on it, but before I got a Prime of my own. The Prime has welded nuts near the front of the cargo area where you can secure D-rings, but just those two. None at the back. So I made and installed my own D-ring and have my tire secured there. That way there's no slop in the strap that would let the tire flop around.

@jerrymildred your post had me searching through my iPhone pic archive, for a good 20 minutes, sadly without success. I know I've got a pic, bringing home 4 mounted-on-rim snow tires, stacked in the hatch...
