Yeah I’ve stopped counting. I’ll see at least one a day (usually 3 or more). Popular colours are BP and MG. I’ve seen more blacks than red or blue magnetism. Classic Silver comes up last. It’s been a while since I seen a silver one. Heck, I’ve seen more Titanium Glow than Classic Silver.

Yeah, I have seen three since March of 2017. It is old hat now.

We were beside/behind one for a while yesterday. A bright blue (blue magnetism?).

Saw one Magnetic Grey this morning, and two reds this afternoon - one Hypersonic, one Supersonic. (No I can’t tell the difference, I was looking at the wheel covers)

Are you in Van right now? Seems like the Primes almost outnumber regular 4th gen Prius?

    yeah.

And another 3 whites and grey late this afternoon.
I agree. More Primes than Gen 4s. I have seen several 2019s/2020s and most are AWD-e. I just saw my first FWD Technology Gen 4.5.

When I bought my silver 2020 Prius Prime XLE in early September 2019, there were very, very few Prius Prime's in LA and spotting them was like spotting unicorns, but a few months later they were everywhere! 2020 model year has resulted in the mainstream acceptance of Prius Prime in LA.

Sometimes I wish I had bought the blue magnetism. While the silver is arguably the best-looking, classiest, and easiest-to-maintain, almost-self-cleaning Prius Prime color, it sometimes feels boring.

Might have something to do with 5 seats? (and I guess the possibility of using it as ride share too).

In Canada, the launch of the 2020 model year coincided with the availability of the federal EV tax rebate (yes rebate, not tax credit like the US) so I'm sure that was planned. Most of the ones I see are 2020s.

I have never seen a Prius Prime used for rideshare. Uber, Lyft, etc. drivers always buy the much cheaper Prius. A slow-charging small EV battery is useless for rideshare and it only increases the cost.

Another 4 today - two whites, two greys. One grey had aftermarket rims.

Isn't the Prime cheaper than the regular Prius in the US once you factor in the tax credit?

Up here they appear very close in price. Tech level Prius and (I think) base level Prime virtually the same price, the Primes maybe $200 more.

Yeah it's $400 more than the FWD Technology before incentives.

With Federal + BC incentives, the base Prime is $400 more than the base Prius. Even the Prime Upgrade is $1,500 less than the FWD Technology after rebates. In QC, it's more dramatic as the Prime qualifies for $4,000. Add the federal $1,500 and the base Prime is $1,000 less than the base Prius.

The RAV4 Prime will probably qualify for the full $8,000 in QC. Add the $4,000 federal incentive and the base RAV4 Prime will probably be less than the RAV4 Hybrid XLE. The RAV4 Prime XSE will probably be just a couple of grand more than the Hybrid XSE in QC and a bit more in BC with only $8,000 total in tax rebates.

It's possible. I'll have $7,002 in federal tax credit, California rebate, and Southern California Edison rebate, even though it's been almost two months since I filed my tax return and I'm still waiting for the federal tax credit.

However, an Uber driver would be more concerned about the monthly payments than future rebates and credits.

This is probably the same reason why more people buy the Prius instead of the Prius Prime. Some are probably also afraid of EV's because they think the battery will fail or simply don't think an EV is suitable for them, even if it's a plug-in hybrid.

That’s true. Or they just think “if I don’t plug in, why pay more?”

There’s two PiP taxis here that I know of. They must’ve bought them off lease since they wouldn’t qualify for any rebates when new.

I saw a PRIME today. I was so excited. The 1st one I have seen in over a year. I think I am up to 4 or maybe 5 now.

I’ve felt like a very rare bird, indeed, since buying my blue Prime up here in MN in February. I thought I saw a black one once, but wasn’t fully confident. This time, I definitely saw a red Prime that looks to me like a 2020. In fact, I’ve seen the same one twice in the same location - a parking lot that I often walk past. Each time, I made a big deal - but my wife was unimpressed and so we walked on.
Really like it in that color!

In the past week, I've been seeing more and more. One commute home was unique in that I saw 6 BP and 1 Blue Magnetism. Yeah I'm pretty sure they were all different since I'm travelling in one direction and 4 were in the opposite direction, one was same direction and one was parked on the side of the road.

Today, it was one BP, one Mag Grey, one Blue Mag, one Hypersonic.

I'm starting to be able to pick out the subtle difference in Hypersonic vs. Supersonic Red without having to resort to looking at the wheel covers to determine the colour.

I’ve seen a few parked at places I’ve gone to shop, but actually got a wave from another one when we were passing it recently. It’s one of those “Hey! Look, another Prime!” type looks as both me and the other driver craned our necks to see each other.

I hardly every used to see any Blue Magnetism, but two days in a row I saw about half a dozen of them! It's so nice to see this great unique color, but I don't want too many people to have it. LOL
