Which dealership do you go to- you are still in Minnesota, right? I have not seen a single one in Minnesota on the road. I check Rudy Luther Toyota almost daily on my way home.
Hmmm the local newspaper here has a picture of 5 robins in a tree around here. Snow is on the tree. Canadian geese have decided this a nice wintering spot. Crap load just flying back and forth between the canal and the lakes. Unsupervised!
Saw robins myself today. Trees are budding. We have set record high temps for days in a row now. It is way to early for this to be happening. Will kill a lot of the fruit trees.
Saw my first Prime in the wild yesterday afternoon, heading east on I 78 between exits 59 and 60, CT license plate. It was red like mine but I was in another car. First one I've seen in months of looking.
That was probably me if it had PA license plates. Traveling from Philly to Tampa. First road trip with the Prime. Averaging 75-80 MPH. The fuel mileage showed an average of 52 MPG for the day. Not great mileage but @ $2 a gallon, my priority was to get to my destination ASPAP.
I see one at least everyday. I even considered buying one, but can't justify it given our 2010 Prius II with 157 k miles is still running strong. I also pass a Bolt or 2 each day. Going to the Toyota and Lexus dealerships tomorrow to look at a Hybrid to replace the 98 4Runnner with 263 k miles that is the wife's daily driver . We'll see where tomorrow takes us.
In the running are the RAV4 Hybrid, the Highlander Hybrid, NX300h and RX400h. The quiet voice inside of me is hoping for the Toyotas as they are slightly less $$$. But I know the color and interior combinations she is looking for won't be available locally . So this might be a preamble to things to come. On the bright side, Carmax offered us $2000 for her 98 4Runner, which I wanted to keep running!
I tried that route as well as the Avalon Hybrid, but she's had the 4Runner for ~20 years, so a SUV is familiar and had the ground clearance and sitting high she desires. But a hycam I would be happy to own in addition to our Gen3.
I saw the PA plates I was towing a 10k lb boat from Jax to Atl getting 11mpg; saw your Prime n said "wat a minute, that's my car"
I think they all sit lower than the 4Runner that you have. (They are all car-based rather than truck-based after all).
Agreed. I'm just thankful she's seeing the benefits of the hybrid and we won't be looking at something that has equivalent or worse fuel economy.
My wife and I saw one on the commute home today. It had a rack on top. That was annoying. It was a Thule. Sadly, we have a Yakima and clips for Prime still aren't available.
