Sometimes I'm wanting to try to get into cars that look like my future car!! LOL So far the Tesla owners have been understanding. Prior to getting our 2020 grey Prime, we were at the downtown Lakeland Florida parking garage. There was a grey Prime Advanced, not sure what year, but from California. The next week, same location, another grey Prime, this time with a Florida license plate, but pulled in forward so I couldn't tell what trim level, with a family just getting out of the car. I was driving the Nissan LEAF, so I stopped and asked if he'd just gotten the car, but he just said he had it for awhile. And then the next week we bought our 2020 grey Prime Plus.
Unless they have changed with the new model year and new model names, only the Advanced had the little sensor buttons on the back bumper. And if you can see inside enough to tell, only the Plus has cloth upholstery and the small screen. That’s how I can tell from behind on the extremely rare times I have seen Primes. As for another red one, I’ve only ever seen one in this area since they came out and it was from out of state, so not much chance for confusion around here. LOL!
Around here now I would say I'm seeing more primes than 4th gen Prius. There was a glut in the last 6 months in particular, whenever I checked current stock at our most local dealership. Now it's back to Prius only, about 5, and all but one is an AWD.
Yeah there’s a number of them around. A neighbour bought one after confirming the range I was getting. I know there’s a bunch of pre-orders at the local dealership but I haven’t seen many 2020s. Most are still 2018/2019s.
I'm about 95% sure I saw a Prime last night in Spiderman:Homecoming. It was very brief, and kind of a silhouette, but I don't know what else has tail lights like that.
I'm still only seeing Primes once in a while and Gen 4s are pretty scarce. Teslas are really popping up all over the place, though.
Doesn’t look like a Prime tail light configuration to me. I see them a lot out here. It does look like either a Honda, Hyundai or Kia design though.
3rd Gen Kia Optima... 2011-2013 MY Note that the tips of the Prime's lights point upward and away from the car (like the hand of God holding the globe... or a Hanukkah candelabra) whereas theses have the tips of the lights pointing inwards towards the car
Kia is close but if you do a side by side, the Giulia wins. The Kia doesn’t have the correct rear reflectors base upon @jerrymildred ’s pic. But at least the lights are pointed the correct way.
Since it never stopped and was only in the frame for just over a second and pausing made it fuzzy, I didn't get a good look at the wheels, and wheels can be changed, so that's not sufficient info anyway. But, as I look more closely, it does look like those tail lights wrap around the sides a little, which would disqualify it. The reflections may not be reflectors; they might just be reflections. But I think what tells me most that my initial conclusion was wrong is the shape of the back end of that right rear window. Rats! Edit to add: Now I'm sure it's not a Prime. See those reflections near the bottom of the bumper? Probably can't happen with our blacked up lower bumpers.
I beg to differ. The reflector is too short in the Giulia. Also, the badging in @jerrymildred ’s Photo is in the wrong place for the Giulia. The bottom the bottom right badge has a red tinge. That matches the GDI badges on Kias.
I not only saw one in the wild last night, we waved at each other and the traffic kept us within a few car lengths of each other for about 14 miles. It was an Advanced judging by the sensors on the back bumper.
Saw another one today! Not just saw. Talked to the owner and his wife who also has one. Both 2017 advanced. They liked my red one. They LOVE their Primes!! They went up to New York to get theirs since the local dealers wouldn't deal with them. Full retail, buddy! Take it or leave it. Hmmm .... I should have asked if they are members here. <face palm> They both agreed that there seem to be more and more Primes around here.
