I just saw a blue Prime in my hometown (Canmore, AB) Safeway parking lot. Granted, it had BC plates but I still thought it would be a long time before I saw another one in Alberta! Traffic was pretty heavy in the parking lot, otherwise I would have pulled over and said howdy.
THEY DO EXIST !!! I saw my 2nd PRIME today here in little Nebraska City, NE. At the Lied Lodge. The same parking lot I saw my 1st one over a year ago. It was silver like mine and had Wyoming plates. Dealership was in Laramie. Anyhow, I was walking when I spotted it so when I got home I wrote a letter welcoming them to Nebraska City and talking about how great of a car the PRIME was and invited them to stop by Priuschat and look around. I drove back to put the note on the windshield. As I approached the car a lady came down with her luggage looking at my car and said, "I almost thought that was my car". I explained I was about to put a note on her window. She said she and her husband, who was not down yet, bought the car in June and really liked it. They were looking for the back window wiper as they drove the other day in the rain. I told them to stop looking. She said they have solar panels at home and make enough to run their home, charge the car, and sell a little back to the power company. They had not heard of Priuschat so I hope they look around at some point. I am just so happy to have seen my 2nd one in 18 months. They are like rabbits....all over the place. lol
Went a year before spotting another Prime in my area. Then I caught two in two days a little more than a month ago. We just spent a week in Vermont. Not only are there all sorts of Prii and Primes all over the place up there, but this happens: We're in the tiny teeny town of Warren parked at the Post office. Five parking spots total. Another Prime pulls in. I talked to the owner about how she likes her car (spoiler - she likes it plenty). And it was her third Prius. She pulls out. One moment later, another Prime pulls into the same spot - an identical twin of mine. Hey - he likes his Prime too! So at this point, and about twenty five Prime sightings in four days, I just give up saying "Hey, another Prime!" The oddest part of the entire week, and in 1000 miles of driving all around Vermont, we didn't see even one Tesla (any model). But here you can't go two minutes with spotting something Tesla.
No. Conversations were short. Vermonters are friendly, but I didn't want to push it being an outsider.
You need to make up some small welcome notes which you can give fellow Prime owners or place respectfully on their windshields or driver's side door: Just print out a few copies on plain paper, trim them down to a reasonable size, and keep a few in your glove compartment. These may even work in Vermont.
At this point the "great respect for the environment" begins to carry less and less weight. I can call a car rental place and have an ICE vehicle brought to my home in a matter of hours. So the only reason I can see for owning a Prime vs. a Tesla or Bolt is so that I can have gas for those emergency trips requiring 300+ miles. Not sure I've ever experienced one of those situations myself.
So if this happened in early Dec two years ago... save to say that the new '19s may be available to order within the next 2-3 months???
Actually I saw a premium prime in my color (blue magnetism) available via Cars dot com in the Washington DC area and was ready to drive down there and told my local Toyota dealer that I was going, they told me that they were getting an Advanced model in my color on November 30th so I jumped at the chance to get it locally Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
