I do believe many newbies run out of gas intentionally, just to see how far they can go on a gas tank. I know *I* did! I was carrying an extra gallon of gas, and when I ran out, I poured it in and that was enough to get me to the gas station. That experiment also helped me understand how many miles I can go after the last bar starts blinking - 24 miles. Because of the stupid bladder fluctuation thing, I can never know how long I can go on a gas tank, so I just start looking for gas as soon as the third bar disappears and I'm left with only two. That's if I'm on the highway. In the city, I go only after it starts blinking.

We had plenty of "Dump Doolittle" bumper stickers in my area. Pombo isn't such a hit in my circles either..... Then again I go to school in one of the biggest christian/republican counties in CA. :(

The other day I was driving home and saw a sad little Prius being towed down the road. No damage to it that could be seen, but one could only assume a failure of some critical component.

    Poor little guy :(
