Price Paid on PIP?

Awesome! That's $24.2k with tax credit. I thought I got a good deal. LOL.

 

Hi all,
I read the post here saying $3500 bonus cash for 2012 plug-in but when I checked on Toytoa web site. It said only $1500 bonus cash for finance thr Toyota. I am in Northern California Bay Area. Can someone confirm it is $3500 or $1500 bonus cash for finance? Is is 0% for 60 months as well?

The incentives are different for different areas/states...
NY gets $3500 Bonus Cash when purchasing through Toyota Financial and 0% for up to 60 months.
I know PA does not get the $3500 Bonus Cash.
Try a different zipcode...

 

I called DCH Torrance Toyota and they said the $29,764 is after rebates not before. I also mentioned Akil Karims name. Do you have any connections with him and can verify that price is still good?

$406 for license seems pretty bogus
but this seems like pretty much as good as you're going to get in CA. going out of state might land you a better deal though.

 

The "2500 tax rebate" is actually a credit when you file your federal return for 2012. You need to owe at least that much in order to take full advantage, unlike an actual rebate. And the "1500 CA" is based on there still being $$ available in the California Clean Vehicle Project, for which you have to apply to the Calif. Center for Sustainable Energy, which is in charge of verifying the info and dispensing the funds. Otherwise, your figures look like a pretty good deal to me, as I'm one of those early adopters who got $500 off MSRP, with no incentives or rebates from Toyota. Good luck.
Edit: lensovet is right, the license fee you were quoted is high. My license was was $220 plus $79 for "registration/transfer/titling fees". There was also Ca tire fee of $8.75 for total "official fees" of $307.75 There is a separate doc prep fee to the dealer of, in my case, $55.00

 

CVRP funding refreshes in the fall, and there's over $13mil of it left, so, I don't think there's much to worry about there lol

I don’t understand ‘you need to owe at least that much in order to take full advantage’ part. If, let’s say, $15K was automatically deducted toward taxes from my paychecks in 2012, does it mean I won’t qualify? Do I need to actually be behind at least $2500?

How much you have deducted out of your paycheck over the year is not relevant to this discussion. What IS relevant is your total tax liability (net tax owed). Your payroll deductions are a payment against the total tax liability. You add up all of your federal income tax withholding and add to that the $2500 credit, and compare that to the net tax owed. Get a refund if your payments exceed your liability; pay the balance if the other way. The "owe at least" applies to the net tax owed, not how much refund you may get or have to pay at filing time. The credit we are talking about cannot exceed your net tax liability.

I got 7 quotes from dealers in northern california and Dianne Whitmire here on Priuschat. That price bests all of them. My OTD price was $32,783. You beat me by another $501 and that was only 2 weeks ago. I thought i had the best price when none of the other dealers could match. Oh well, I needed a car and took full advantage of 0 down and 0% financing.

Yes, base model. The only options are floor mats. No dealer add-ons. They have the ad here.

It still says 2 available. I already took one of the two. Two days after purchase, I got a $60 better OTD deal from Hayward Toyota. No big deal except they were offering the white I wanted.

 

So, now that my financing situation has finally been resolved, I can post here! yay!
Purchase Price: $28,703 (including $2k TFS rebate)
Invoice if known: $31,550 including accessories

The "options" on this car were the custom color ($220) and carpet floor and trunk mats. I also had the dealer send me the all-weather mats (including cargo tray) and cargo net. I plan on sending the carpet mats back at their expense since I have absolutely no need for them.
Doc fee, because it had to be on paper for out-of-state registration, was just $75.
For me, I should be getting close to $4k back from the IRS+state. That comes out to $24,703, which is $2k lower than the MSRP of a Prius Three. Don't forget the 0% APR, which makes this a great deal.

 

But don't you feel that you paid for the carpet mats? I had OEM all weather mats in my '06 from day one, and was able to sell it with never-used carpet mats, which made it look like new inside. Also, you might be able to sell those instead. Glad the whole finance fiasco worked out well for you.

 

Well, I asked the sales manager for a prepaid shipping slip. If they ever get around to sending it, I'll send them back. If not, I guess I'll keep them/sell them

 

Any one know what the incentives are for the Oregon/Washington area? I live on the border so it would be easy to go to either state. I've been trying to see if it would be worth it to trade in my 2010 Prius III on a 12 PiP.

 

At the moment it's 2k cash back via TFS. Lithia Toyota in Springfield also gives you 2500 off sticker on all Toyotas.
