correct. $29258 - $1500(CA) - $2500(tax) = $25258 (before tax and reg.) which is a price of prius liftback 3
dang, i bought in CA for a lot more than that in Sep (got too excited and couldn't hold off). the advanced is sweet though...
I would just like to point out that the $2500 tax credit is on the "bottom line" amount of tax that you owe on your return for 2012. It has nothing to do with the amount of withholding from your earnings. Please consult a tax professional, which I am not.
Yaa that tax amount seems to be very confusing. I am not much aware of it and hopefully my tax consultant will figure it out for me if not in this year I hope I can distribute it over couple of coming years
I wonder if the TFS incentive that expires tomorrow (11/5) will get extended. Seriously considering waiting for a C Max Energi for the 2x EV range though...
Have you seen the cargo space of Energi? That and 43 MPG after depletion is what sealed the deal with PiP for me.
Interesting, the C-Max Energi is on sale but no reviews. If the current C-Max hybrid is not getting EPA so far, I wonder about C-Max Energi mpg after depletion, heavier by about 200 or so pounds.
I just wanted to give an update on purchase. I live in CT but purchased out of state in Mass to get an extra 1500 off. [3.5k vs 5k Toyota incentive] Not to mention the CT dealers near me would not offer much off MSRP. I was a little hesitant on working with Boch because I felt they "had me" once I made the 2:30 trek up there. However, everything went very well. Here is my experience just in case someone tries something similar in the future: Before you visit the dealership: Your first email conversation is with their Internet Sales person. I would recommend getting your initial price and have that as the base to work off of. They will not give you an exact value of your trade in, but try to get their recommended range which they should use Edmunds TMV as the guide. Once you are ready to deal, they will transfer you to an on the floor sales person. I worked with Alberto who was great. At the dealership: Potentially haggle down price a little or ask for a few extras. Use the price paid on these threads as your benchmark. I didn't get the cheapest deal in the thread, but thought it was very fair. Test drive Work with trade in manager. For me, the first value was off by about 2k so stick to what you think is a fair deal. I actually added that if they gave me what I wanted, I would rate a favorable review on Google as well as here! Work with finance guy. Since I easily qualified for 0% I just had to decline the extended warranty. They didn't push the extended warranty too much. I explained that I wouldn't be buying a Toyota if I was worried about reliability Sign everything Go home Get insurance binder Schedule day to meet at DMV in CT [still working on this] Other items: The 5k rebate Toyota offers is taxable in CT as opposed to Mass! Ugh. My Deal: 1. Purchase Price: 38264 including destination and 349 doc fee 2. Invoice if known: 40510 [MSRP] 3. Sticker: ??? 4. Model (advanced or standard): Silver: Advanced w/mats Trade in value: 9500 for 2006 Acura TL with 107k miles 5k toyota incentive + 2500 Tax rebate + 2246 off sticker: Total savings: 9746 0% financing Dealer: Boch in Mass working with Alberto
I was there this past Saturday. I noticed a Silver Advance with a SOLD sign on it. Must have been yours. It was the last Advance model left. Congrats!
Oooohhhh. I haven't seen it yet because none of the dealers around here have Energi's yet. Yeah that kinda sucks - reminds me of the Volt issue with the missing middle rear seat.
I have been in the works of acquiring a blizzard pearl PIP from Ira Toyota Danvers, Ma since last Thursday. I have had my ups and downs since I live in Indiana, not a PIP selling state (2 have been offered here since I have been looking for a few weeks in Ft Wayne). MSRP 33,180 -2,920(dealer) -3500(rebate) +395 (doc fee) +1900(7% IND tax) +700(shipping) 0% interest TFS Total $29,755 The finance manager will send me the paper work tomorrow and will go over the warranties and such. I do not plan on taking on extra warranty. A 2 year service agreement provided by Toyota is also included. Anyone want to buy a 2008 Prius Touring
You might want to look into dealers in the MD area as they only charge $200 for their doc fee. I just purchased mine from Silver Springs, MD. Let me know if you need my contact.
Looks like the Rebate is gone in the Boston Region (lease only now). I checked NJ and CA and they don't have any specials up yet.
