I went through such an episode where my key fob didn't seem to work, even after I replaced the battery. I had to put it up to the start button each time to start the car. Turns out, it had somehow turned itself off in the setup menu. After that, the fob worked properly, but they didn't tell me the power windows also had to be initiated before they would work from the driver's door. I found out they had to be cycled up and down to be "initiated." I can't figure out why this is necessary.

I've read that its to "set" the pinch protection... dont remember where I read it, but sounds plausible to me
