pre 2008 models do not have brake override??

    It works at any throttle setting.

    Obviously it is possible for any system to fail. Even the most robust and well designed system can be overwhelmed by outside forces. As a good example, take the elevator emergency braking system in the Empire State Building. It failed miserably when a B-25 bomber crashed into the building and dropped an aircraft engine down the shaft onto the elevator. You would think that the engineers would have planned for that eventuality.
