Apart the Euro flair that is present and very similar on our Auris (but is about half in size), be sure this car in no way is designed for EU market, its all for USA and Japan :)

This is exactly the Auris HSD layout, angled intake included. According to Torque, does'nt seems a particularly brillant solution for the battery temperature in summertime/mountain. Given that the battery's fan, also in oveheating doesn't go more than speed 4 (mistery), many of us we're using Torque to push the fan at speed 6 manually if desired.

I would like to convey a big thanks to Danny, the moderators and experts for all the efforts to bring us the maximum from this reveal despite the limitations put on them by the organizers. I am sure I am speaking on behalf of all P/C chatters shown interest in the event.
Many thanks for job well done!

I disagree, The USA Market is in love with the Prius, not so much by the Europeans. I think Toyota designed this car to the tastes of Europeans, to gain that market share.

Looking at the final result, the target is missed, by far :)

If they were to gain shares of EU market, i guess they would have allocated the design to the EU center in France, responsable of the styling of Yaris and Auris:

Agree, not any one that I know (also local car forums) likes the styling of the new Prius. It was already a tough sell in EU I think now will be even tougher.

Europeans like conservative VW styling or the "french" styling, latest example Renaul Megane:

Did anyone look or took pic of the sticker by the driver door? You know the one with recommended tire pressure (and curb weight?), etc.

I didn't look, but I doubt it was there since these are preproduction cars. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Staff did a great job in having their time wasted without complaining like we did, even though they wasted more time than us.
Good job in keeping to the high road.

Perhaps Europeans will enjoy the drive? There was emphasis on the new rear suspension and sporty driving dynamics.

How is a late Renault, conservative?

    Didn't look, sorry

OK, VW has conservative styling (works all over the world), (OR) others (Renault) style their cars to European taste.

This statement is too general. There are many European marks that are far from conservative, here are 3 samples, Peugeot/Citroen, Audi and Mercedes. As you can see these are far from conservative. As for VW/Audi take a look at the last picture!

I think I'm being misunderstood here, we are talking about top selling cars (not sportcars), German styling is conservative (little changes over previous models - Golf, Passat, A4) and works well around the globe, French and Italian are more radical, sometimes it works sometimes not, but IMHO chances are if it will work, it will work only locally.

I would be interested to see a survey from Japan about styling of the new Prius.

That's for sure, but i'm afraid it will not compensate such a styling. They adopted (can't remember who quoted that) the same brand new rear indipendent suspension of Auris HSD 2013, i can confirm, excellent and sporty. I missed some of it mounting TOYO Nanoenergy 2, A-class for friction, but with the original Dunlop the car was really a delight to drive sporty...

Me too i would be interested on japanese market reaction, so we look for Ken@Jpn comments :)
