Post here if your Prius works fine

I have had my V ATP since Xmas. Just over 1,000 miles in cold, snowy Indianapolis, getting 45+ mpg. Only problem has been mild rattling on start up when everything is cold. Rattling decreases or disappears after a little driving. No brake problem. Love this car.

 

I thought working fine was the default position. I prefer to stir clear of most of these (news worthy?) media generated opinion pieces.

 

In 2005 I purchased a New 2005 Prius. Loved it. Best car I have ever owned and drove. Didn't have any problems. Recently traded my 2005 Prius for a 2010 Prius V. I love this car. No Problems at all. This car is amazing. I am a very happy and loyal Toyota Prius owner! Yes, I will continue buying Toyota's. I have owned GM's, Fords and Chrylsers. But nothing compares or even comes close to my 2010 Prius. I also own a 2001 Dodge Dakota 2 wheel drive truck, V6. I have been driving my truck back and forth to work because of snow and icy weather. 24 miles round trip daily, 5 days a week, no other trips. Cost $60.00 per week ($240 monthly) for gas to drive my truck back and forth to work only. Drive my Prius back and forth to work, to the store and other places locally. Gas cost is $25.00 every 2 weeks ($50.00 monthly). Now that is a great savings. I would much rather have my money in my pocket than to give it the greedy oil companies. And the comfort of the ride in the Prius is smooth and comfortable.

 

It is reassuring to read all the post. I certainly have had no problems, and appreciate the quality of the Prius.

Does it frighten you to see what our government, and congress can do to a company? Congress knows nothing about anything, except, they do know how to hold hearings ... and they are never positive. Toyota is a world-wide company .... but only in America are they having problems? Maybe they should close all American plants? That seems to be the problem. Pretty disgusting!

 

I've had my 2010 since October 2009, so it was one of the first rolling off the line in Japan. I had the break update. Never experienced the braking problem. No problems after. Loving it!!!:mod:

 

Bought ours last September; it now has 3K miles. That is a lot of mileage for me, as I work from home, but I love driving the car. About the brakes, thanks to PriusChat I knew about brake issues before I bought the car. I have tried to replicate the problem, but I have never felt it happen. Even if it did happen, I feel confident that I could still be safe. I have felt the grabby brakes in reverse a couple of times, but I am not significantly concerned about that. We will see if anything changes now that I have had the recall work done.

In summary, I am still in love with the car. I am happy every time I walk up to it and drive it. DH enjoys driving it as well, especially when he gets better MPG than me.

 

My problems have been with the dealer, not Toyota. Dealer could not read odometer, overfilled vehicle with oil, and called to find out what gasoline I use (supposedly related to other problems). Prius is well engineered, designed and constructed.

 

No problems here. 2007 model with about 33,000 miles. Regular checkup every 5,000 miles. No modifications or changes made to anything. So far, we've been averaging about 45 mpg in northern NJ.

My 2010 Prius works flawlessly in every respect. It was purchased new last summer and has never given me any problems with the brakes, fuel, steering, or anything else. I love it!

Someone asked me to be careful of the brakes and accelerator on my Prius. I just to him I don't use them. I just bump into people.

 

Yeah. LOL. It works fine. I've posted my floor mats are anchored. It would take quantum tunneling to make them move.

 

We have 2 2010 Prius, both Package 4 with Nav and on also has the solar roof. Bought one in Oct and it has 7,440 miles on it and one in Nov ehich has 2,800 miles on it. No issues with either one.

 

I'm hooked! I think Toyota has acted one heck of a lot better about this whole thing than any US auto company ever would.

When I heard about the brake problem I took my '10 III right out and tried all the different braking conditions I could contrive, both on dry pavement and on a heavily rainy day (yes we do have those in So Cal). Turning, straight, braking gently, as hard as I could, and all in between, in most possible combinations. Mind you this is the first ABS car and the first hybrid I've owned. But to my feel the thing acts flawlessly.

The ABS is pretty obvious when it kicks in, but I can't say I can sense the point at which the mechanical brakes start to take over from the regen. I've been loosely assuming that happens when the little red line reaches the left end of the "Charging" region, but just a guess.

I'm a little concerned that if I get my brakes reprogramed that they'll make the switch from regen to mechanical more conservative and thus loose MPG. Any deeper knowledge/experience?
