I am not sure of any specialist shops in Fremont that might be able to help, but there are shops north of there that can help.

Some questions:

• Does the shop need to be in Fremont?
• Is the $3.5 k an all in to include the engine and replacement?
• How many miles on your Prius?
• Was it run low on oil?

You may want to explore selling the vehicle for salvage. It may be more economical unless emotions come into play, especially if the battery is in good shape (which it likely is).

thanks for the welcome and the response. Shop does not need to be in fremont, $3.5K was just a rough estimate I am flexible and I am not looking for a brand new motor. Prius only has 105K miles. It was not run low on oil because all of it came out of the car when the engine failed, no check engine lights before hand

 

how much would a 2010 prius with a good battery and 110K miles be worth?

 

@edspecR and @SlidingBike , given the weather in the area will be rainy on Saturday and poor for a meetup, we are moving it to Sunday.

I don't know enough about the market to give you a good answer. After a front-end collision about three years ago, I sold my '04 Prius for $3500 to Lucious Garage in SF. I'm not sure of the value of a 2010. You may want to call and ask.

I told my boss that I will stop by their house (3 miles away from our saturday Prius heaven) for lunch, now I need to reset them back to Saturday..

Hi Everyone,

High temp of 51 tomorrow with 70% chance of rain. I've got a long, flat driveway for work, but my garage only has one open slot. We may be forcing this too much as it's likely to be miserable for anyone working outside.

I'd like to see a show of (virtual) hands as to who still wants to meet this Saturday and who wants to reschedule.

Regardless of our meet, I can stop by as I plan on meeting my boss (3 miles away from Ped Logic location. But personally I would prefer to move the meet for a warm and hungry day as folks are going to drive a long way off the winds and rain.
