i have to wonder since the Leaf will have a 24KWH pack, if discharged to 10% that leaves 21.6 kwh or 4.6 miles per kwh which is optimistic i think. but then again, i am only basing that off the performance of my Zenn which is not optimised even at Zenn standards. i have the DC motor which is not as efficient as the AC motor and others have reported getting nearly 6 miles per kwh in good conditions...so sure, its plausible.

either way, i am excited and the Leaf currently appears to be way out in front for an EV for us "little people" (people who cant afford a Tesla)

Since I started tracking it in January, I have averaged 5.2 miles/kWh in my ZENN (here in Wisconsin). My lowest was 3.8 miles/kWh (at 6 deg F) and my highest was 6.6 (at 66 deg F). Today I ran 6.3 miles/kWh. This is a MUCH lighter, smaller vehicle driven < 40mph, however.

I will be on the waiting list for a Leaf also (although I'm not sure what it will replace ).

IIRC, EV1 was around 5miles/kwh. So 100 is quite doable with 21kwh.

My assumption is going to be about 80 miles of real world range - in other words I won't go to a place more than 40 miles away if I can't fast charge in between.
