And the advanced has the flat Toyota logo on the front because of the radar cruise, the basic has the well, non flat one lol. You can also see if you spot the cut out on the dash for the HUD in the advanced. And also, the advanced has the LED headlamps which stand out.
I look for the silver door handles and strip across the back. The charging port, of course. And soon - the green stickers. Still haven't seen one
Heh, those aren't plugs! They're the headlight cleaners. If you turn on your headlights and press the headlight washer button near the gas tank button you'll get a nice spray of cleaning fluid on your headlights..... and all over your hood.
I know Michigan's a big state but there is a blue advanced running around NEAR Farmington Hills (I won't give their exact city name, but I did sell a PHEV to MI) ... might still have Carson Toyota plate frames on it!
Mine's a white one, with a dealer plate that says Carson Toyota. Fernside area of Alameda. Say hi sometime.
LOL! If that's the case, then I think I'll leave them "plugged" up! I read about the headlight cleaner in the manual, and it didn't even register with me. I wonder where I thought the cleaner was going to come from?
I was at a friend's house when they asked what they were and since I had never actually activated it, i decided to give it a shot. I was standing by the driver's door and pressed the button, it scared the HELL out of me and soaked half the hood in washer fluid. It's pretty funny to watch, but i doubt i'll ever realistically use it.
Wow! That was me...Great detective work! A couple of weeks ago, I was stopped at an intersection near there and a guy pulled up next to me, rolled down his window and asked me how I liked my plug in. He then said he was going to pick his up from the dealer the next day! The excitement on his face was amazing!
Haven't spotted any in Sacramento, although I know there are a couple other than mine. I feel like I'm on safari!
Sighting in San Diego at the Center for Renewable Energy (where Californians send their requests for $1,500.00 rebate) Mine's the blue one - I was told by a Blink guy - who just stopped by randomly and filled me in - AND -gave me a free charge - that the shorter charger I was plugged into is supposed to be for a handicapped zone. This also gives a good front to front comparison view of the difference between the Adv and Basic models.
While on 101N on Monday, a dark grey/black one merged in front of me as I was going past the 85N/101N interchange (they were coming from 85N). And shortly after that, I passed another clearwater blue metalic that was in the number 2 lane of 101N. Both still had their paper plates.
That's where the headlight washer fluid squirts out. Hehe, that just reminded me of Red vs. Blue where they haze the new guy (whose a bit of an idiot) by sending him off to get headlight fluid.
Saw another PiP today.. winter gray metallic base with Tustin Toyota plates.. we gave each other the thumbs up, around 3:15PM @ Von Karman/Main in Irvine. A pic from the side view mirror:
Two today; one on my commute down 880 (just before the burned out VW Bus that closed two lanes) a silver Advanced and then at Tasman and Great America a Clearwater (could not tell model). They are becoming more common.
