Graph was done with 70 A123 cells, from 40% depleted to 80%.

Because you love pictures, one more: :D
next project comming soon with 144 cells, so 72 x 40Ah need more plates between cells (more then 200) :

There is a lot more than meets the eye to the cells Jack got.

If you want to read more details I encourage you to read the thread on Endless-Sphere about these A123 packs that are coming on the market from China.

And if you can't sit through the extended Jack video you can read some summaries of it beginning on this post of the Endless-Sphere thread.

There may be some possibilities. But we won't know more until later this week.

Some of their members are getting packs and will do more in-depth testing, photos, and overall investigation of them.

I use out of gas mode in 90% of my driving, but I did this test just to show people what it is able to do for the normal person who has to do freeway driving. I used about 20kw from my pack according to the Can view. I could probably get 45-50 miles out of a charge. so even if you had to commmute 90 miles a day, and you could charge at work, you could get some great gas mileage. ;)

first drive today after a while.
installed the battery case and did a manual ev200 control
now to get a wire from canview to the back of the car.
ohm during drive was between 0,15 and 0,05
you guys also get that ohm range or more lower?

it seams to that the ohm is mie higher
but ofcourse i have 9 anderson plugs connecting the 5 boxes now and 2 ev200 relays inside a relaybox with lots of wires... so ohm will go up

It has been a while since I made a post on this thread. Just put in a fire extinguisher into the front door pocket. See photo. Just in case. Hope I will never need to use it.

I am looking at buying this item on Ebay and using it to drop out the 200A contactor when the regenerative braking current is too high. The price looks OK.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Programmable-Digital-Dual-Display-90V-200A-Combo-Meter-Voltage-Amp-Power-Ah-Hour-/180856335786?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a1be0adaa

It appears that the OCP (over current protection) can be programmed between 0.01 amps and 200Amps. Downside is that it can only measure current in one direction only. Still it can also be used to measure how many AH go into your lithium battery pack whilst charging overnight. I will probably use a voltage divider to reduce the voltage from about 240Vdc to about 24vdc, ratio 10:1, as it is only rated for a maximum of 90Vdc. It has a relay output PCB which I can use to drop out the 200A contactor when OCP value is reached. I am guessing that the OCP alarm is self-resetting.

Can you explain what is going on in each YouTube video of the Elcon charger.

I believe that at the end of charge you get either:

    1. Flashing green LED. Charger has finished CV mode and completed the whole charge program. Charging can be cycled with a AC Plugin timer on charger.

    2. Green and red flash. Charger did not finish charging program after being interrupted by HVC relay. Charging cannot be cycled with a AC Plug-in timer unless HVC relay was reset. Mine is reset by powering up the Prius using the ready signal. Cycling the charge on a HVC can overcharge the cell which is causing the HVC. For this reason the HVC needs to be reset manually.

    Tested and verified.
