it is surprising how little people know about the cars they are interested in. i think it swings across all models.
they think the sales weasel will tell them everything they need to know. and guess what, they will.;)

just look at the size of our own thread: everything you wish the sales weasel had told you.

Well if you look at the two side by side, one doesn't have a spare and has a lot less storage, so I could understand that decision.

    1) I think there's a fear that the replacement cost of a Plug-in battery pack would be much greater than a standard Prius battery pack. Little do they know that there hasn't been a single replacement (that I know of) of a plug-in's battery noted on PriusChat...

    2) Used car drivers may, all things being equal, be more likely to be living in apartments or other places where plugging in is not possible. Little do they know that the plug-in can deliver great real-world results without being plugged in...

    3) Used car drivers may be a little more used to dealing with flat tire situations, and appreciate the spare in the standard Prius.

I can see the spare part, but both the plug-in/normal Prius have the same cargo volume.

you lose most of the under deck storage. it's not a big deal for what you gain. at least to most of us.
some people have their apocalypse equipment in there.:p

I too am looking at the plug in Prius, maybe time for an upgrade. This would be in lieu of a new 2016. I am seeing dealers $14,500-16,000 for 2012-2013 with 35,000-39,000 miles. Galves is reporting $12,600 at auction.

I am shocked at how cheap the 2012 PiP is. They sell for $1000-$1500 less at auction than a comparably equipped Prius III.

Here is a list of what I have available now:

2012 Prius Plug In Classic Silver Metallic 70k Miles $12500
2012 Prius Plug In Blizzard Pearl White 88k Miles $12995

2012 Prius Plug In Classic Silver Metallic 52k Miles $13995
2012 Prius Plug In Winter Gray Metallic 61k Miles $13995
2012 Prius Plug In Clearwater Blue Pearl 50k Miles $14500
2012 Prius Plug In Classic Silver Metallic 36k Miles $14995
2012 Prius Plug In Advanced PKG Clearwater Blue Pearl 79k Miles $14995 SOLD
2012 Prius Plug In Advanced PKG Clearwater Blue Pearl 60k Miles $15995 SOLD
