Pimping out the Prius to show "I'm not gay!"

I know more than one rough, stinky, smelly dudes who work in hard physical labor and are gay. One of them is a friend of mine. I mean John Travolta is a declared bisexual, and he still carries himself like a dirty biker type.
While I do understand the whole "curves of the car" appeal to some degree, I respectfully disagree. While I can clearly tell some cars are more obviously aesthetically marketed towards men than others, I have never in my life seen a car design that I would say "this is way too girly for me to drive." I mean, obviously i would not wear a skirt and put make up on. However, I would hug a guy friend and acknowledge the fact there are male heterosexual hair stylists. In the same manner, I believe even the very least "male" car out there is, at the most, the equivalent of hugging a guy friend; not the equivalent of putting on a skirt and make up on.

P.S. The Pink AVON marketing cars do not count. lol

 

Just tell your "friends" that since you are SO well endowed, you don't need to prove it by overcompensating with a phallic automobile. What a pathetic discussion, and at the risk of offending the OP, what a pathetic group of "friends". So what if they think you are? Who cares? If you want a gay car, buy the wiener mobile. I have found that many (green minded) hot females are more attracted to me because of the Prius. Fortunately, my wife has not noticed.

 

Mebbe just hang a set of those "hitch balls" manly-men hang from the trailer hitches of their manly pick-em-up trucks, eh.

What's wrong with you? Just beat the snot out of them: that's a real man's answer. A little blood on the hood and a dent where you rammed their nose in ought to do the trick.

Take the prius to a paintshop and have them paint tons of industral stuff on it. like fake air intakes, flames coming out of the tires wells, nuclear caution symbols, rivets and all sorts of cool manly stuff.

 

I'm going to guess that the pickups in Dallas/Fort Worth are more lifted with more horsepower than all of rural Texas. Got lots of guys with this silly obsession to prove they are a real man.

Over the years, I've noticed a number of males flaming rather defensively that speeding or driving a big guzzler validates them to the point I almost feel safer asking a woman about her age/weight - seriously.

 

To take the question at face value, I suppose you could always put naked girl mud flaps on it.

To address the meat-and-potatoes of the question, I suggest you spend less time worrying about what other people think of you and more time snickering quietly at your friends with their diesel dualies when they pay $200 for a week's gas.

Too bad Blackwater changed their name to Unites States Training Academy other wise I'd tell to go on line and get one of their licence plate frames. I have a Blackwater licence plate frame on mine.

The only reason I don't put my Mildot Reticle CNC aluminum plate on the front of my Prius is it would kill the aerodynamics and lines of the car.

This is a pretty funny thread. Lacking such confidence and worrying so much about such an image is the gay thing, not the Prius.

If you are serious and this is not a joke, all the two-tone seats, tint, and other "fast and furious" mods just make such friends who think "gay" think "GAY!" instead, IMO.

I like the two ideas of the naked girl mud flaps and the brass hitch balls. Even if it doesn't make a statement about your manhood, they would look really cool on your Prius.

 

My above remarks are based on years on the forums and driving.

I just want to drive to my destination in peace....with higher gas prices and a bad economy less guzzlers are trying to pass with dust in my face. But what do we have to put up with any kind of rude driving? I really don't care what they are driving - biker dies in road rage incident.

On the cyberspace side of my observation, I've noticed countless fights on this topic - downright hostility....gearhead and off-roading forums attacking sites like this one with content that's unquotable and honestly is very childish and insecure.

In the bigger picture, our society is discussing issues less and doing gradeschool banter more - the healthcare town meetings being a prime example....I expect them to be heated but some of the remarks are just over the top.

 

Years ago a Prius owning republican from the midwest posted that he put a sticker of a boy urinating on 'OPEC' on his car. From then on people treated him to two thumbs up or a smile.

I'm always amused by cultural differences in masculinity. I am Israeli, and sandals are very manly. They are my daily shoe except in the snow. Tennis shoes are tolerated, but have a bit of city-boy overtone. Paratroopers have a distinctive way of wearing boots: they pull the socks out over the boot, and wrap the long laces around the sock. I still wear boots this way out of habit.

Nowadays I just don't worry about it, although I try to wear pink or purple at my kid's functions just to embarrass them a bit. I suppose I have taught them well, because they really don't care, either.

 

I'm not stealing, I'm borrowing. I actually rarely use the word "gay", it's easier to just say something like "my boyfriend and I...". Takes care of the sexual preference and relationship status questions in one go.

I would agree with you about the age thing in regards to comments. I'm going to school to be a teacher and being in the classroom in a middle/high school is certainly an interesting experience after you have graduated. Of course, being an observer, it can be hard to refrain from bringing the issue up with the students.

 

I have a sugestion, be man enough to not need a truck to be a man.
