Off topic but we purchased two folding bikes ( Lightweight Folding Bike | United States | EuroMini Folding Bicycle ) and took them on a trip out west. We loved 'em! Great for riding around the huge campgrounds at Yellowstone, etc...Also took them on the natural bridge trail in Yellowstone. We also rode around the greenways at the Grand Canyon south rim. They certainly are not mountain bikes...but held up well on gravel paths.

Edit: And the fact that they fit *inside* the car is great for Prius drivers...no additional air drag! Those exterior bike carriers can be tough on MPG.

You have a Prius c? Things will fit in the larger Prii that will not fit in the Prius c. ;)

I'm thinking about converting one of those Fuji fold Marlboro cigarette bikes into a free wheel gearless bike. It fits in my yaris sedans trunk so I'll see if it fits in the C.

New pressure washer from Costco. Just barely fit, but I was able to close the hatch and keep the back seat latched in place so the pup still had a place to ride!

That a functional trailer hitch I see? As in "functional" I mean can you tow with it or is that one that is only good for things like a bike rack or powered wheelchair?

I'd say it's as functional as you can get with a C. It's an Ecohitch from Torklift Central (sorry, tried to provide a link, but don't have enough posts yet). I put it there so that when I need to do something with my truck, I can tow the Prius there, then use it to tow the dolly home. The dolly weighs 615 lbs and I don't think I'd ever try to drag much more than this around. Longest tow so far was about 40 miles and it handled it just fine. Still averaged 36 mpgs while towing, so not a complete mileage killer.

I also combined it with a Curt Mfg #56275 wiring harness, which is virtually plug-n-play (have to attach the ground wire--no big deal). Available from lots of sources (incl scamazon).

Time for a roof rack I guess. Both whitewater kayaks will fit but then there's only room for the driver. ):
Might have a better chance if the 60/40 rear seat was split the other way.

I never thought to check if there's an opposite 40/60 seat in the RHD models. I did notice that they all have the rear wiper set up for RHD, so USA drivers don't get as good of a view out the back window.

David, thank you for this!!! I am planning a long trip that will involve a full-size cello, and I'm guessing it will be about the size of the three-quarters bass. The photo with the case's head between the seats is the game-changer. Also the bit about packing soft luggage around it - we will have about a dozen choir vestment bags, and that will be perfect.

That's better - room for people and gear now.
Rhino Rack roof kit for a C seems like a solid solution.

An impressive amount of work gear, all goes into the back (with nothing on the rear seats). Note that the spare wheel is no longer stored in the well; the well holds other emergency items and rarely used tools.

Does anyone have the dimension the back with the seats up and down?

    Today's grocery-get:

    160lbs of chicken feed
    100lbs of water softener salt
a case of cat food for the ferals
80lbs of assorted groceries for the humans
    1 bale of straw

I love that cargo carrier. It's 85% of the pickup truck I need. U-haul and Lowe's have me covered for the rest.

That cargo carrier is neat. So what did you do to get the hitch installed?

BTW - I'm in the market for another C. Daughter has the current one in North Carolina. It really is an inexpensive to own and operate vehicle. Tires are super cheap, etc... and I already have a set of snow tires that my daughter doesn't currently need.

The problem is...I can't find a decent deal on the darn things anywhere.

The hitch is a Reese #77277 1-1/4" receiver.

I had to find and use some weird hardware to make it really fit right but it's great. I have towed with it, but rarely use it at all and mostly just to haul a bicycle or this cargo carrier- a Curt #18110 with some DOT C1 reflective tape added.

Good luck on finding another good c- everyone is hanging on to the good ones, and all prices have gone nuts, not just cars.
