Phone numbers keep disappearing

    My wife noticed something on hers (w/nav) and our particular problem has been determined to be normal. The contact list does not disappear, you just can't access it while driving which makes sense. I wouldn't want people scrolling through up to 1,000 contacts while driving. On page 130 of the navigation owners manual where it describes using the phonebook (contact list) it states, "This cannot be operated while driving".

    I was not referring to the list being locked-out while driving. The list was empty. The speed dial entries also disappeared, which are available when driving.

    Same issues here. I have a 2010 Prius package 3 with Navigation. My phone is an iPhone 3GS. The speed dials, contacts, and phone history disappear about once a month. I'll re-transferring everything and set everything back up and then about a month later, it disappears again. Has anyone resolved this?

    Also, this may be unrelated but about a month ago I started my car and my navigation screen had a "loading" progress bar on it and then it gave me an error message about a DVD, then it went back to normal. Makes me a little worried since my phone book has self deleted 3x and my nav has gone nuts once and the car is only 3 months old.

    That happens to me too (2010 Prius tech package) every now and then, the phone book gets totally erased and I have to re-upload my whole phonebook from my Iphone 3G...and reprogram all my speed-dial buttons
    Kinda sucks cause intermittent problems are really hard to solve...
    I would think it's a software bug though..

    Same thing's happening to me with my iPhone 3Gs. Really annoying. Anyone find a fix?

    I've had my 2010 IV since July 2009. The contacts & speed dials just disappeared last week for the first time. I reloaded all, and a few days later it happened again.

    Reviewing this thread, I find comfort knowing that others have experienced it too, but I'd love to see it resolved! Knew I hadn't imagined it!

    Any resolution out there?

    I had started this thread because it happened to me a few times right after I first picked-up my 2010. The next time I brought the car to the dealer I asked them to look into the problem, and it hasn't happened since. As I mentioned in an earlier post when I picked up the car the person at the service desk didn't know what they had done. But it's been well over a year now, so it seems they may have fixed it.

    Sorry though that I can't tell you what was done, but you may want to try having the dealer look into it. Maybe there's a service bulletin out there, or maybe I just got lucky. :rolleyes:

    Yes, it is my understanding that the phonebook is unique to each device.

    It has not happened thus far on my Prius but has happened on Acura TL and Infiniti Bluetooths I had :(.

    We have a 2011 IV with Navigation and Solar Roof. With my iPhone 4, the contact list and favorites have vanished 3 times since April 2011. Really it was 4 but I count 1 instance for when I connected my wife's iPhone 4 to the car.

    Has anyone found a way to resolve this?
