    Thanks Mark.

I've been signed off work for a week but quite frankly very little is being done to try and pinpoint what exactly is wrong. I'm back to my normal pain levels at the moment and am champing at the bit to get back to work. Hopefully I can visit the doctor and persuade them to refer me to a specialist....

In the meantime a friend is popping by later to help design the interface board between the car's ECU plug and Norm's BMS+ so that I don't have to splice the OEM loom as per normal installations of the BMS+...

    Nikki.

How are you doing that? Do you have both genders of the interface? I would have preferred just buying a cable with socket at one end and plug at the other. It would have made splicing in easier, but my "damage" is already done. The soldering job doesn't look very good, but does work.

That's exactly what I'm doing too! I'm doing it as a PCB though as I want it to be really robust as possible.

It's certainly better I think than cutting into the loom and soldering the wires directly.

Congratulations on the conversion! You're using two battery packs, or three?

    Nikki.

P.S. How did you get the conversion done so fast? I've not even got half-way yet because of lack of time (and health!)

i am a fast guy:D and not being sick!! get better soon!

So you have two packs in total? Hmm. Interesting. 5.1 km... was that without charging the pack? What was the SOC???

wy did you go for the charger without PWM?

First i did a normal drive to get the pack SOC UP. then i started at 65% with the BMS+ connected and when i stopped it was down to 18.5%

when you drive and the Real soc is 65% and more the BMS+ will display a 74% soc and almost all green bars on the MFD

when the real SOC drops not sure what SOC it will go back to 65%
when the real SOC is really low! i think 20% it wil go to 60% and lett the ICE kickin when driving.

its funny to drive so long and always see a full green bars on your MFD

    did you get the canview?

it was without charging the pack to 80-85% but i did do hypermile and only city driving no more then 45kpmh:cool:
no hills and that 45kpmh was a small part! most i drove tru streets with 30kpmh:D:p
and cracked open een window for some fresh air and no ventilation on and MFD off to, no radio.. all minimum:p

Good. I didn't take the time to trace down the socket. If I'd asked, I might have been able to get one from the same source as my battery packs.

Luckily for me, and I suspect for Leon too, most scrap yard merchants view the HV battery as a complete unit rather than a discrete collection of parts. The HV ECU has come with both of my salvage batteries. I was also lucky to get just enough of the loom from one to use as a bonus - which is what gave me the idea to make an adaptor cable rather than splice into the car's original ECU cable.

How easy was the removal of the socket from the ECU? Did you desolder it or remove with brute force?

when you look at the socket its got 2 big solder point that holds the socket at its place!
    these are screws
take the soldering off and you can unscrew the socket!
then you need to unsolder al the connections but thats nog a easy part so i cut al the connections inn half leaving enough on the socket to solder my cable to!

    good luck

Yes, I saw the screws. I'm currently putting together the PCB layout. If it's successful I'll share :)

    Update!

The connector is now desoldered from the OEM Desmo board. The PCB layout I hope will get finished tomorrow. The hard bit is of course getting everything layed out correctly.

when did you order the charger?

That's an excellent result, well done. Just out of curiosity can I ask if that was from a cold start or at full operating temperatures? I am just about hanging on to 61mpg in a standard Prius now that the weather has gone wet and cold.
