If you jack up the front of the car, take off the engine undercover, and look up at the front side of the engine, the PCV valve is right there under the intake manifold and is easy to see, especially knowing what to look for from the above pictures.

I practically live under the car, what with 6 monthly oil changes, and take the shield off completely every time. So I'm prejudiced lol. I've pulled the hose off the pcv, and ran a q-tip down the hose: it barely got dirty, definitely not wet with oil. But only 70K kms.

I guess the main point I'm trying to make: whatever you're comfortable with, is the best approach.

It's not worth the wait...that darn oil seems to find its way up to the valves!

This one, might have to replace the hose with a transmission line. Heard the hose that comes with it leaks.

I have read many OCC posts but as I remember, this is the first time someone brought up smog legality of this thing in California. I maybe wrong or may had skipped it, I apologize if I didn't see some of the posts about the smog issue.

Back in the 90's when I was a kid and Hondas' ruled the import scenes, people are often talking about smog legal parts, CARB stickers, and setting appointments to a Referee to get signed off as a smog legal mod. Do we have a Cali legal OCC out there that can get us safely pass smog inspection?

I want to know that too lol. Hopefully there's a smog tech in here who can chime in?

My order for a PCV valve at AutoZone was canceled. Supplier issue. I went with the $37 one. Must be the only sucker in a while and they gave up, lol.

I've been waiting to clean out the EGR until it came.

Took your advice, Nutz about bolts after watching your vids. Thanks for them!

Is it not a bad to get the cheap ones? I drive 200+ miles a day and am so sick of taking the wiper assembly out.
(Car symptom is slight shudder especially when letting off the gas. Feels like restricted air or gas. just a very slight shudder. New to me '010, gen 3 with 140K)

The Toyota manual sais to use Toyota genuine adhesive 1324, three bond 1324 or equivalent on 2-3 of the threads of the PCV valve. Has anyone else done this? Is it important? Is there a cheaper, more readily available substitue (like loctite?)

Thats awesome news! I am replacing new. Didnt even think to look at the valve. I also saw someone mentioned in another thread to use blue loctite and stop worrying about it...

If you use nothing it just might get a slight oil bloom, that’s all.
