Older people may feel OTHERS should not get entitlements, but as people get older, it seems THEY want entitlements.

As far as the young being liberal with better ideas??? Nope, they just have the same old "feel good" ideas that have been PROVEN to not work before they were born.

    Go Libertarian!!!!!

Okay, when were hybrids proven to not work before my time? I'd like to know when that was.

How about smoke free buildings? When exactly were buildings smoke free and it was a horrible nightmare? I'd like to know.

Also, AIDS prevention. Could you tell me when AIDS prevention was that didn't work?

    Karl:

What do you mean by "conservative?"

If you mean the "classic" Conservative like my parents are and the way I was raised, then I always was "Conservative" in that regard. For the NeoCon idiots who fail to understand what "Conservative" really means:

    - Small government
    - no debt
    - that small government staying the hell out of my life
    - let people live their lives as they see fit

Under the current spectrum I'd be classified as a Libertarian, and if I was still living in the United States I'd vote Libertarian.

It's fortunate that my new work contract has me so buried, so I have an excuse to now avoid PriusChat. Otherwise I'd just stay away to avoid the insane NeoCon nutjobs that seem to have escaped from whatever State looney bin they were locked up in.

Nailed it again Squid U Da Man! I have been noticably impressed by the fact that the Far Right has learned it's lesson about manufacturing evidence for baseless accusations. Case in point the CBS and the National Guard Papers, now they just make the baseless accusations and keep repeating the same thing over and over and over. Kinda like this guy. . .

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. - Joesph Goeebles

I don't just hate Bush. It goes much deeper than that.

I don't actually spend a lot of time hating Bush. It's not that I hate him really; it's just that he's such an idiot, it's more like embarrasment when I see him open his mouth. What I can't stand is people whose eyes get all glazed over and become physically aroused whenever they hear his name mentioned. It creeps me out. What really creeps me out is if the bulge in their pants becomes visible and they start to salivate lustfully whenever Fox News is on TV. I seriously have to leave the room.

You could have stretched this out much farther, Nate. "Conservative", literally, means to conserve things the way they are, to be resistant to change. Here's some more examples of views that were once simply "conservative", and are now unacceptable by most:

    -Pro-tobacco
    -Racism/Slavery/Segregation
-Women as obedient servants, no voting/working/etc.

Here's some current issues that we can hope are headed the same direction in the long term:

    -Homophobia
    -Religious intolerance
    -Aggressive gun rights (handguns, etc.)

Of course, there are examples of society sliding backwards, but hopefully these will be mere blips on the radar!

PC More conservative? No, I was just driving by with this turned up really loud, and you didn't get the sarcasm:

I used to lead a quiet life
In fact it was a bare existence
I passed out on many floors
I don't do that any more

    Hello my friends
    Is everybody happy?
    Hey look me over
    Lend me an ear
    I'm a conservative

I like the small black marks on my hands
    I'm a conservative
I like the crazy girls that I screw
Hey I know them all well

And when I run out of bread I laugh
All the way to the bank
Sometimes I pause for a drink
    Conservatism ain't no easy job

    I smile in the mornings
    I live without a care
    Nothing is denied me
    And nothing ever hurts

I got bored so I'm making my millions
When you're conservative you get a better break
You're always on the right side
    When you're conservative

    You walk with pride
    Pride is on your side
    Pride pride pride
    Is on our side
    Oh boy
    Pride is on our side

    I like my beer
    I like my bread
    I love my girl
    I love my head

    I'm in the clear man
    I'm in the dear
    Because I'm a conservative
    I'm a conservative
    I really am
    Oh yes l am

And it would mean so much to me
If you would only be like me
Yes it could mean so much to me

    Hey look me over
    Lend me an ear
    I'm a conservative

i believe you mis-spelled omissions --- e for the o is more accurate - and i do believe they steam cleaned the carpet in the oval office after he left, and the cigar box was incinerated.
