Truth be known, anal sex doesn't turn me on. But it turns some people on, and I'm comfortable with that. It doesn't make anyone more or less human than anyone else. I've also heard from sex educators that more heterosexual couples have tried anal sex than homosexual couples. Live with it.

Really growing up I never kissed a boy I did play truth or dare with the girls. :p
I Had a friend that did the truth or dare thing when he was 12 (late bloomer) but the wrong persons they where teaching him the ropes ( a 14 yr old boy) who seduced him into the ways of the Butt Pirates..

I still know the guy and yes he is out of the closet openly gay, I asked him if he felt that he was born gay or was it do to something else? He said he learned how to please another man and enjoyed the attention he got for it..

I have asked the gay people, I know how did they know they where gay?

The gay people that I know all agreed they were indoctranated into it at a young age & enjoyed the attention/affection they recieved in return..

I grew up in the 70's and we did not see same sex relationships out in public. the first time I saw two guys spooning together nude, I had walked into a public rest room (I was 5) in a public park. I thought they looked funny and went and told my dad & mom what I saw, My father went and spoke to them in the restroom I guess it went well we had to leave in a hurry after he came out.. (looking back he probibly beat the crap out of them). :D

I personnally feel its an indoctranation into the life style and you choose to walk that path (your not born that way).

I guess you would have to tell your children about homosexuals especially if you go the WDW during gay days... ;)

I believe God created Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve.... B)

The same sex marriage issue is another ball park:

When they are married, they find out its not so easy to get divorced like a normal marriage.
Then theres the new health care issue were you can add your partner another added cost this jacks the costs up for all of us....

Im not a homophob... (I have friends that are homosexuals) <_<

I surprised at the freeness of todays parents, its better to be your childs friend. And parents are suprised when they find out their child is having friend sex with the boys in gym class or daughters aquiring a licker license after cheerleading practice....

Sorry to run off into left field so to speak and got away from the book/story issue, I think they should wait until the child is like 9-10 before introducing them to adam & steve... If you dont like the PUBLIC SCHOOLS just send your chilren to PRIVATE school where they will get a better education....

Thats all I got to say about that.
Peace~

BTW does any one know where AIDs really started from?

I think homophobic is a grossly incorrect word to use.

Go beyond it, and think about what might cause that feeling. In some ways, I think this plays into the genetic argument of being gay. Again, I'll use my example of the mock wedding. Even at that age, having no real comprehension about sex/orientation, I would not have done the same thing with another male, I guarantee it. Someone also brought up not wanting to kiss their dad, I think these might be expressions of the genetic component? I do not know, I'm taking a stab here. The point is, how did I know, it was OK to have a mock wedding with a female? TV? Books? Parent? Built in intuition? Would I have had issues if my first grade text book illustrated a male-male "wedding"? Would it have caused some sort of confusion? Or would I have not even given it a second thought? Honestly, I'll bet I probably would not have given it a second thought. Of course, that's just me personally... Regardless, I intuitively knew there was something "special" about females, that they were "different" from boys from day 1. I clearly had a crush on this girl before I even knew what a crush was in the first place, a feeling I have never had for someone of the same sex...

Actually, now that I think about it, a NATURAL repulsion to this, sort of defines, by compliment, the argument FOR genetic "gayness"...

I don't think anyone is saying "no acceptance" (which, to your previous point, tolerance is the forerunner of acceptance, obviously, you have to have tolerance first in order to accept), but I do think it is riddiculous to introduce/hedge to a lifestyle of 10% of the population at such a young age. I think it's an exaggeration of reality (unless, of course, you go to school in San Francisco!), and shouldn't belong in the "mainstream" curriculum AT THAT AGE.

If unions can only exist where there will be fruit from procreation.....my friend Cheryl can never marry because she had a hysterectomy for cancer.

Any woman who is in menopause also cannot marry.

Low sperm count? Forget it.

Romans? Romans is the quote? And King James? A translation from the original Greek? I don't believe that is Jesus speaking. I believe that is...Paul? Paul's letter to the Romans? Yes. Paul. The misogynist. In fact.....I don't recall Paul as having actually been one of the 12 original disciples. Of course I may be wrong as I'm not a theologian. But.....I'm not going to base my beliefs on a wannabee with an agenda to grind. In fact.....I take the new testament with a bit of salt seeing that the male dominated Christian Church centuries after the fact decided what would and would not be in the Bible according to their OWN agendas. I don't interpret the Bible literally or the world would be flat....how else can you have four corners?

Of course it's not just Christianity. I think Mohammed's views were a bit different than current Islamic practice as well.

As for the book, the teacher, the class, the influence on the kids......*sigh*.

I'm sure the parents will successfully teach their children to hate all faggots and torment their children for having two mommies or two daddys through their school years. Homophobia...the new racism.

Amerika...Home of the free white male as long as you make six figures and own stocks and property.

When I went to high school in the 60s nobody was out.
and it was good that way. Why do I need to know if someone is gay?

That's sort of your interpretation, or more accurately, MISinterpretation, of the point... I'm fairly certain that falls under some sort of "ailment" category, kinda like it's-the-idea-behind-the-gift-that-counts concept...

That's PRECISELY how I would position it, if I were religious to that level.

Of course, I would rather NOT have to position in the first place...

Here's some friendly advice:

If your kid comes home and says they saw a book in class where two men got married, say to them: "Yes, a very small number of men want to marry other men. Our God says in the Bible that this is wrong. We shouldn't hate these people, but what they are doing is wrong according to our beliefs. When you are ready, I will explain in more detail. For now, be nice to any kids you know with two dads at school, but understand we do not feel this is appropriate for our own children."

Is that so hard? Is it such a nightmare? Let the schools teach in the context of secular life, and you can still guide your own children according to your own religious values.

Ahhhh, very good statment Bob R. & MS. I agree! :)

P.S. If that teacher read that book here in Fla. he would have either been suspended or fired for breaking school policy..

The story is out of Lexington Mass. (they also allow same sex marriage in this state)

So do dogs. And I'm sure we've all seen dogs humping dogs of the same sex.

BTW marine biologists have observed dolphins having sex just for fun, not just procreation. And they do it in hetrosexual pairs, homosexual pairs and sometimes in menage a troi. I guess they haven't been born again.

A very tragic accident took place during a routine circumcision and the family was convinced by the doctors to raise their son as a girl after further surgery to correct the botched circumcision. "She" was dressed as a girl, given girl toys, fed numerous medications and went through years of indoctrination by a psychologist to ensure she maintained a self image of female.

It didn't work.

She didn't feel right and started questioning her sexual identity and dressing less feminine.

She eventually found out what happened and chose to live as a male.

We're wired in the womb.

Next I suppose rapists are in it for the sex and besides she was asking for it.

The bankrobber feels he "needs" your money, and the child molester feels he "needs" your daughter.... just because we "need" it does not make it natural. We must not discount that dysfuncional behavior does exist and just not "anything goes if it feels good".

There are other things that impress thier personality upon mankinds and superimposes thier feelings and thoughts upon ours.... think of it as alien... but its true....

Your thoughts are not always your own and if you were "freed" from all other influencing entities, you may "feel" completly different about things, people, and issues.

(Well really I would say the rapist is in it just for the sex! But the she was asking for it line, would be the excuse for doing it after the rapist was caught).

Oh, so in one breath you're defending Galaxee, saying that she wasn't calling EVERY religious person a nut, and then, in the very next breath, you call me a nut? <_< Nice. Confirms everything I need to know about you Bob. My Bible quote was purely to show why *I* prefer not to be *educated* about all the ways of the world. I made no attempt to imply it had a bearing on the topic.

No, I think you should keep your "mock" friendly advice to your conceited self, thank you.

On a more serious note....

Just a few thoughts on the subject...

If homosexuals are wired to be that way its genetics...it's just the way you're born...it's what you're meant to be...then how do people who live a gay lifestyle suddenly wake up one day and decide to be straight? They walk away, find a straight partner, have sex, get married, have kids...how can they do that if they're genetically predisposed to be with a member of their own sex? Some people might respond to that by saying "Well, they're living a lie." If that's the case, couldn't the same things be said about those choosing to live a gay lifestyle? Also, if genetics play such a large part in determining homosexuality, then how can one family have a child that's gay and a child that's straight? True we aren't all Stepford people and there are differences between siblings, but it's questions like this that make me think that the whole "born to be that way" thing is pretty weak. I do believe that people can have imbalanced hormones (a woman with excessive testosterone..a man with more estrogen) that might confuse the issue. I also believe that we put labels on kids...girls who are more athletic may get labeled as lesbians or boys who are more effeminate as gay...I also believe that lots of kids are sexualized at much too early an age and that they become confused due to situations they find themselves in...whether it's just a case of curiousity or more serious things like molestation. Kids experiment...but just because they have a same sex encounter doesn't mean they're gay. However, the attitudes that our world has toward those incidents may push them to believe that, especially for boys (if you've ever done THAT you MUST be gay) Also, I think the easy access to pornography these days especially via the Internet, is really hurting the sexuality of lots of people in our society...not just kids. Anyway...just some things to think about in regard to this subject. Please note....I do not believe in hate crimes or anything like that. I just don't believe the "you're just born that way" argument.

How do you know there's a spectrum? How do you know it's not something like blood type? You're either A, B, AB, or O. There is no middle ground (I don't believe).

In this case, I actually agree with you, but I'd like to have more than just a "feeling" about this.

From Merriam-Webster:

Homophobia: irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals

All can judge for themselves if aversion to a child being gay is homophobia. My opinion is that it is.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Mystery Squid @ Apr 20 2006, 08:45 PM) </div>
I would think that society plays into it, at least to some extent; "mainstream" culture teaches us that men marry women. But, beyond that, as you've said, there's a genetic component. From the fact that you had a crush on a girl first (and you're using that to bolster your claim), I would guess that you're heterosexual. Maybe, since your heterosexual, your first crushes were on girls. Who's to say that homosexual children won't have their first crushes on kids of the same sex?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Mystery Squid @ Apr 20 2006, 08:45 PM) </div>
Ah yes. I can see we're at least thinking along the same lines to some extent.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Mystery Squid @ Apr 20 2006, 08:45 PM) </div>
So, what percentage of the population has to share a trait for it to be introduced into a second grade classroom? Again, I'll ask if we shouldn't discuss Judaism when talking about religons, given that <5% of the US population is Jewish.

And, I'll remind you, if the 10% figure is right, that's almost 30 million people in the US (i.e. a lot).
