The reason I got going down this path is that I have a fairly high quality 12vdc-->120vac inverter I was wiring into the 12v system for future emergency use. It won't operate as it thinks the voltage is too high, and goes into a fault condition.

The inverter worked fine on my 2004 Prius, in which the 12v system was always at a constant 13.7v.

Anyway, if others could let me know what they are seeing from the ScanGuage, and it seems mine it higher than normal, maybe I can adjust the voltage setting for the 12v system (or get it adjusted).

I guess that's a follow-on question, is this an adjustable setting, and does anyone know how to adjust it?

    Thanks again, John

I bought my first SGII many years ago for use in my 2001 Mazda Protege. I've used it in countless cars and it's been permanently mounted in my personal vehicle. (And moved to rentals for trips, etc.) It's been baked in hot California sun a million times, dropped and who knows what else and has always worked flawlessly. They gave me a free firmware upgrade to add XGAUGE support when that came out ... and really I couldn't be happier.

I bought a spare cable from some place on the web so I can pull mine from the Prius and put in a rental without undoing the cable. The wire cost me $12 or was it $9 ...? Either way it was cheap. Velcro holds it down to my steering column in the Prius.

Sucks you had a bad cable ... it's just a cat-5 cable with the OBD-II end on it... looks like the made in China Cat-5 end was flaky .... And the broken screen; perhaps it was dropped by the seller? Personally if I bought one and it was bad, I would return it to the seller and get another. Why was that not an option?

Nothing else lets you read all the parameters from the Prius so easily, and it does it perfectly.
