I lost 50 pounds two years ago, just because everything started tasting like YUCK.

Only took about two months. So far, I have not noticed that things taste wonderful, but the taste DOES seem like it might be better. Regardless, weight is still off. Now right around 190 at 6'2"

I find my danger hours are between 8 to around 10 in the evening, after a 6 p.m. dinner. If I can hold out and not snack, the cravings disappear and I go to bed.

Congratulations on the success of your efforts.

I'm currently working on my weight too. After getting far too sedentary the last ten years due to arthritis problems and then the newly added stress of our move to another state I found my weight had really ballooned. At 6'1.5" I was at 164 lbs. on Jan 1. Totally unacceptable for a former high jumper/coach/trainer who was still playing softball 4 times a week and riding a bike 110 miles a week in 2010. A New Year's resolution was to eat smaller portions, snack less, get settled into the routine of the new home and walk more miles on the desert trails. I'm already down to 146 lbs. but I figure at least another 50-60 lbs. to go.

You figure a healthy weight for an over six footer is under a hundred pounds?

My MD, who looks like he dried out on a beach all summer (skin and bones), but has credentials from Columbia and Harvard, says that 190 is perfect for my height....but he says losing an extra 10 pounds would not be a bad idea.

His rational is that you often see older, active, skinny people. But, seldom, older, active heavy people.

Happy enough at 190, but still does not approach the 6'2" 175 I was in college.

Of course, in college, all I could afford was rice, beans and bay shrimp (which were cheap in those days).....due to finances, I was never part of the Holy Triad -- although I gave it my best shot -- you know, Bisco, the Holy Triad....

 Sorry about that senior moment, everyone. It's 264 lbs., down to 246. At least I hope you all got a good laugh at my expense. :D

Good diversionary tactic from the shrine:p.

Just glad we understand the true scope of the difference in weights (y).
