The Ruien OCC has two chambers on the intake side that come empty. You stuff those with stainless steel scrub pad, which will encourage vapor to coagulate into a liquid that will drip down into the catch can.

The hoses are not fuel spec'd. Bought them from Home Depot in the plumbing dept.

If you're splicing into the existing hose you'll need a couple of:

    3/8" brass hose barb splicer

    And a few more:

stainless steel hose clamp (capable of clamping ~5/8" OD hose)

I've seen a few installations that didn't bother with the clamps though. In particular with something like heavy black-rubber fuel line (spec. SAE-30R7 or SAE-30R6), pushed onto those aggressive barb connectors, I don't think the clamps are really needed. But they certainly don't hurt.

guys, I know this catch can thread is not the best place to ask this .... AND ... I didnt feel right making a thread all for myself and being greedy .... but would some of you kindly take a glance over at my thread? I'm having a heck of a time, with the engine "shakes" on start up, and battling a CEL for misfire on cyl 1:

Can't seem to log in using Google account over there, repeatedly!

    UOA
Check plugs. They have charts showing pictures of what's the cause of the different looks.
Still losing oil? You've driven a good amount and may need to add.
    Compression test?

I did a dealer oil change 1k ago, because I requested for an oil consumption test. They (the dealer) would only agree to the test IF I do an oil change with them, using their filter and their oil ... which is funny because I use oem toyota filters and they use mobil1 0w-20 as I do

that said, no uoa this time around, but I do usually get those done with blackstone labs.

I'll check the oil level soon, I'm actually eager to see how much as been lost in 1k. my guess is, 1 qt. And compression and leak down test, are 2 things I have yet to try

Reason I first noted UOA is because you can see if dirt is getting by your filter. You noted the pre-filter addition. That is not going to help make the air cleaner, just prolong the service life of the filter. If you want cleaner air then replace filter with new one, or go back to stock. I'm also concerned oil is fouling your plugs. From what I learned from issues of harsh Cleveland life for my W201 oil goes to coolant. (Can please correct me if I'm wrong, but oil pressure > coolant pressure). No report of that, so must be going somewhere else.

Quite difference on OCC contents now when wheather has been warm vs spring.

When temps were little bit lower(5 - 15C) i got mostly water, fuel and just little bit oil to bring light brown color.

Now temps has been 15 - 30C and i got only oil(maybe spoon in a week) and maybe slight ammount of fuel.

But strange how that ammount of oil does not appear when colder.

If you let it sit for a few weeks, maybe your winter drain will stratify to show more oil than you think. Ours looked like cream when drain, but when settled was still about 3/4 oil.

BE6919D2-323C-42D4-A50B-FF84D5218B0C.jpeg I ended up mounting mine on the low side below the manifold. Not very assessable from the top but it’s an easy drain during DIY oil changes.

    Go low:).

I’ll be curious what you catch;).

I’ve only caught about 6 ounces to date over 9 k miles and it is odiferous like gas with oil mixed in .

Does your catch can have a dipstick so you can check the level? I check ours every so often to make sure nothing drastic is going on ;).

    Nice install location (y).
